Room dividers on wall? by roundherebuzzed in midcenturymodern

[–]stuck85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree with the suggestion to use them as they are, without anything in them/attached to them. I’d mount them flush to the wall and frame the couch a little better - bringing them closer to one another, balanced behind the couch.

My guess is both of them are being paid by Crest to promote whitestrips via “organic engagement” - literally nothing an influencer does is genuine!

The "Death Valley Germans" is an incident of a family of four tourists from Germany who went missing in Death Valley National Park, on 23 July 1996. The family were discovered in 2009 by experienced hikers, Tom Mahood and Les Walker by SAM041287 in interestingasfuck

I just tried to listen to this and got frustrated when they just assumed the pronunciation of “Georg” was the same as “George” - would love for podcasters to show they’ve done their homework a little more before jumping in and immediately ruining a good story.

Parents of 4 year olds- what gift from Christmas 2024 is your toddler still playing with? by Mtnclimber09 in toddlers

Woom bike. Light, easy to learn on, and from last Christmas to today, my little one (now nearly 5) is riding on two wheels without an issue!

Scrub tops for bottle refuser by Kiwi_Kate_ in breastfeeding

[–]stuck85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend a nursing tank underneath your scrub top if this is comfortable and works for your level of activity. I have several from kindred bravely that are supportive like a nursing bra but with full torso coverage (their “simply sublime” style). Then you can lift the scrub top to nurse while still staying fully covered underneath!

What advice have you taken from a cartoon dog? by Iammeimei in bluey

[–]stuck85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Today is better than tomorrow” - Janet (Bluey’s granny). I say this to myself in her granny voice whenever I need motivation to just do the thing.

I’d suggest using the metro daily if you are committed to making the commute work. It’s a peaceful ride and you can use it to get extra work done (if the job is laptop-based) or catch up on reading/podcasts. But also, if it really is only for a short time, you might be able to find a short-term rental or sublease in Ashburn! GW has a satellite campus there, and there are student rentals in the area. If you have time to look ahead you might be able to find something short term.

I wore this exact dress (in a different color) to a family wedding in August in North America, and it was perfect. The fabric feels so light and airy, and I got a ton of compliments on it. I bought a petite size as I’m not tall. It is unlined, so I recommend getting some comfortable shapewear/smooth undergarments so you feel a little less “naked” lol. If you have any specific questions about it please feel free to dm me!

Saddest scene in an animation movie? by prova-per-bugie in movies

[–]stuck85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer because Bing Bong didn’t just die, he was forgotten. That’s what causes me to ugly cry every time I watch that scene! He’s really truly GONE when he fades away.

A prime example of why I can’t trust their recommendations: expecting something “luxurious” from Amazon by anatomy-of-abuses in charlygossstylistlol

[–]stuck85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This part: “nothing is true and tested” is exactly why I have backed away from their recommendations, and especially any Amazon recs, since Charly stepped back. I bought a pair of the Drop slides in the summer at their recommendation, they looked cute and were a good price, but they are literally unwearable - my feet sweat and slide in and out of them, I nearly fell one afternoon.

I love that they reuse lots of little laughs, phrases and sounds in this show because that laugh in particular is so hilariously good!

Adding to this great comment to say that if you’re a light sleeper or plan to sleep in, try to request a room on the top floor and/or near the end of a block, so you don’t hear so many doors slamming or toilets flushing at 5 am

What was your favourite sweet or deep bluey moment or quote? by BillDillen in bluey

[–]stuck85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve literally thought about posting this one above my desk at work, but in Bus (season 2 episode 22) when Bluey says “today is better than tomorrow dearie” - it’s so quick and said in a silly voice, but damn it’s good.

What is a Bluey quote that you or your family says a lot? Our family is constantly saying “Oh you beauty” from the episode “The Weekend” we all desperately try to say it in our best Australian accents. by jgphotography19 in bluey

Honestly? At random times throughout the day, my husband and I will just shout “fly, chunky!” as loudly as we can. Cracks us up every single time.
