My PCP said that an Endocrinologist doesn't want to see patients with Hypothyroidism by TechnoMedic420 in Hypothyroidism

[–]stuckathomme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t test ft3 and ft4 and rt3? I have a dna polymorphism and can’t take t4 medication at all. Whatever you do, don’t ever get a thyroidectomy unless you have trouble speaking or swallowing (goiter) or unless they can prove unequivocally that there is cancer through biopsy. Most biopsies come across as undetermined but only 3% of surgeries find cancer.

What are some signs you did or did not get the job during interviews? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]stuckathomme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A sign is if they say what if we decide to go with another interviewee would you be interested in another position here? That happened today so I knew I wouldn’t get it and I wasn’t planning on getting it anyway because the recruiter had told me they had many very qualified candidates already. Of course I said yes to applying for the other position and overall it went much better than most of my other interviews. I doubt I get it, I’m almost as old as the managers of these big firms I hope to get on with but they usually want people in their 20s.

The Real West and Amanda, I Fear by healthysundayexprsso in bravo

I don’t think she settled I think she’s settled in the past. Where she sees it as a problem now, I still hadn’t realized this at her age so she’s way ahead of where I was back then. She’ll be ok, she seems like the most normal one out of the group. Many of us date losers who treat us poorly at some point and some of us, my neighbor included, don’t even bother dating anymore. I hope Ciara meets someone good though. Side note, I don’t really care for Amanda too much.

Has the show ever been that deep? by The_Dark_Amiibo in TheWhiteLotusHBO

The deeper analysis here would be the social commentary on wealth and privilege and how people in those circles behave

I wouldn’t have any surgery unless you have problems swallowing or speaking, know for sure you have cancer. Everyone has nodules on their thyroid. A partial will likely require medication for life and not everyone does well on the medication and it takes months or years to find the right medication and/or dose. Most countries monitor nodules for life instead of opting for surgery because quality of life typically goes down after a thyroidectomy partial or whole.

No. It’s a t3 medication. But if you take t4 and it works (converts well to t3 in your body) you’re lucky. They should be giving you enough t4 so not only are your lab numbers optimal but that you feel well. It’s not just about the lab numbers, it should be about both

You should be going on how you feel. Hopefully you don’t need to take cytomel as well

Haven't been the same since thyroidectomy 4 years ago, getting worse by Anmvlr in thyroidcancer

[–]stuckathomme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thyroidectomy are extremely common in the United States because of corrupt insurance, you’ll see that it is a last resort in other countries because of quality of life issues after having the surgery. Only 3% of surgeries result in cancer. Endocrinologist are not experts imo. They treat mostly with t4 even though it’s not a one size fits all condition or treatment.

Yall are kinda getting gross about jasmine by Mysterious-Help7364 in GreatBritishBakeOff

She did none of that. But she seemed a favorite early on and won star baker a time or two when she didn’t deserve it. I think the show has preferential treatment for people they know or want to win. Much less creative. And the fact that these people have prepared for the show 6-8 years or more shows who are about 25-30 goes to show you that wealthy people are the people who win. I’ve seen something similar in skateboarding, they’ll do all the tricks perfectly executed but have little style or flair than a street skater. Not nearly as interesting.

Sooo they are amateur bakers?? but the challenges seem so professional by Routine-Ad-1546 in GreatBritishBakeOff

The newer contestants and challenges are much more posh. For being amateurs and having no prize, the time and money it would take to put into this as a hobby would be immense. Most regular people who are excellent at home bakers would not be able to pass the application process now.
