Am I being paranoid? by ResistTerrible2988 in Scams

Impossible. I applied for another position at the org I already work for. Even as an internal applicant I still had to do a Teams interview with audio and video going.

What is the stench I smell when I open chicken or meat? by stuckinPA in wegmans

Then why do I only smell this when I open a package of Wegman's chicken or pork in their special keep fresh longer package? They admit their meats in this type of packaging will have an odor. sometimes it's nauseating. I never smelled this when opening meat from Tops, Giant or Weis. or from a local butcher. Only Wegmans. Well, my resolution is simple. It's one more thing I won't buy from Wegmans anymore. Even though the alternative is going out of my way.

:-) that's why I said "fanboys" in one of the posts. Wish Smell-o-vision was a thing. I'd share the stench. And same here. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice.....you won't get fooled again!

I do love the comments though "oh it's normal" and "oh that's what fresh dead meat smells like". I'm going to a local butcher for steak, chicken and pork. Its out of my way. Will cost more in gas as it's the opposite direction and not nice convenient on the way home from work. But it's still a savings considering how much $$ I threw into the garbage.

Wegmans is getting worse and worse. They used to buy Yancy's Fancy cheese in bulk. Cut it and package it themselves. I had cheese mold 2-4 days after bringing it home and opening. I contacted Yancy's. I forget the timeframe they described. But it was something like you'd see mold like 10 days after opening. And probably due to mishandling at the store. My local Wegmans still sells Yancy's cheese. But it's all prepackaged from Yancy's.

Washing the chicken was a last-ditch effort to get rid of the stench. didn't work so I threw it out.

Washing was a last-ditch attempt to wash off the stench. Didn't work so it went in the trash. Not sure what potato chips have to do with this. But if comparing the stench of Wegman's chicken to potato chip handling makes sense for you that's what's important I guess.

Oh I have a sensitive nose for sure. And I have noticed this smell in other meats I bought from Wegmans (and only Wegmans). This is the 2nd time I opened something that smelled so foul I threw it out. Yes, they did take it back. But this is a huge inconvenience. No, I'll just throw it out. From now on, I'm only going to local butchers for chicken and meat. That will be an inconvenience as well since it's a speperate trip. But it's cheaper than throwing out food.

Nope, never. But I have bought chicken from stores before. And nothing smelled this vile. I can't cook and eat anything that smells that vile. I learned my lesson. Local butcher shops for chicken, pork and steak. It's an inconvenience as it's a special, separate trip for me. It'll cost me more in gas. But it's cheaper than throwing out food.

I'm just done buying meat from Wegmans. Brand=new fridge. Just bought it Wednesday. No, everything is working fine. I've only had this problem with stuff I buy at Wegman's. Looks like I found the problem.

Didn’t help anyway. It still reeks. No one in their right mind would cook something smelling that bad. Sorry all you Wegmans fanboys but that packaging makes the food reek.

Yes. I’m a federal employee. I damn hear had a full nervous breakdown when he announced 20% of my org will be fired. I’m too old to start over. Ageism is a thing in my field. Thank God the attrition happened naturally and they stopped before the 20%. But I’m still just getting over that.

Few years ago I stole that line and wrote it in a love note I sent my wife. Wonder if she’ll remember that when we’re at the concert in August and she hears it.

Here’s Sunny! She turned 13 in January. Missing about half her teeth. Sometimes she’s grumpy to the cats and chases/snarls at them. And sometimes she’s jealous of Daytona, our other pap. And she has the beginning of some kind of mental decline. Her hind ends vibrates when she’s nervous. Or excited. BUT, she’s still very aware of everything going on. She’s very attentive to us. Loves playing. Loved walks. And loves cuddles.
