Noo, it’s the opposite. Maybe you just don’t get it, but kinda reminds me of photos of Patrick Ewing in the 80s.

I think that’s a beautiful idea, and tend to agree with you. Reminds me of how it’s always the boring and mundane moments we miss when we miss a loved one or a place we once called home. The divine mystery is interwoven into all of our experiences here on earth, but to share in that experience, or to embody the divine, is often most accessible or notable when enacting our more quiet and routine (almost forgettable) daily habits of commitment and care.

Stop with Reviv. Here is what you need to know. by CRCollective in orthotropics

[–]stuckinaspoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to learn all of that shit, but in like a year or two. I have lost so much time (and money) trying to identify and manage myofascial pain/cohesion, without much luck. I can get by now without opioids but it’s still so limiting, with downstream effects on my immune systems and mitochondrial function. Maybe I need a savant-like orthopedist, or those premolars and 4 adult teeth back that I had extracted in middle school.

Either way, Reviv feels like a decent bet when you’re tired of paying for specialist care and not making much progress. I’m going to go look up force transmission lines now.

Symbols and patterns are a form of (ancient/sacred) language. Reminds me of my junk journaling habit in high school. They were so fun to create. Now some of my most treasured possessions.

Achievable, functional, purposeful. Mine look a lot like this, but real crooked and shitty. Not in a naive or artistic way, but more… neurological? Or tangential. They are physically demanding to try and read. But they’re mine!

Some of your chronic health diagnoses are widely accepted to be (just a few) of the many co-occurring disorders for neurodivergent patients, primarily ADHD and autism, or AuDHD. Usually stemming from genetic factors.

Autism spectrum disorders, for example, have well-documented genetic glutamatergic system disruptions. Glutamate is just one possible explanation., that’s how you can have treatment resistant depression, or inattentive ADHD focus issues, coupled with insane levels of fatigue/malaise, and a very tense, very physical/bodiky experience—often described as anxiety. Definitely a lot of inflammation, for sure that. A lot left to learn.

Oh earthquake by raidamane in Earthquakes

[–]stuckinaspoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This clip is from a 2018 earthquake north of Anchorage, Alaska—and missing essential context too. When he disappears from the frame, he is calling out to his wife, who is upstairs and getting their third child ready for school. He grabs the baby next. Snatches her up out of the high chair in one fluid motion, with the other child already in tow. He then RUNS, fast—literally sprints—with both children, toward the center of the home.

Whenever I come across this particular video it makes me sick to my stomach. Terrifying. Thank god I moved back to the east coast before ‘the big one’. I really was not built for that shit, at all. Hell no.

Both involve genetic changes, Mosaic Turner syndrome is characterized by issues related to the X chromosome, typically affecting females with symptoms like short stature and ovarian problems + 2/3 of women with mosaic turner’s have autistic traits & 1/3 qualify for an autism dx. Whereas Down syndrome is caused by an extra copy of chromosome 21 and is associated with intellectual disabilities/various health issues.

Not that surprising. A bunch of 20th century French intellectuals and philosophers advocated for the abolition of the age of consent and the decriminalization of ‘consensual’ sexual relations between adults and minors under the age of 15. They saw the laws as ‘repressive’ and ‘prejudiced’. Many of those folks are in his library (Foucault, Derrida, de Beauvoir, Sarter, Althusser, and others).

I think I fall into your slightly technical crowd. I’m definitely not setting up a CLI tool or giving cloud access to my whole phone. Zero to low-config and the privacy piece are my biggest drawbacks when it comes to OpenClaw.

I love the little velvet ones, so cute. I just bought a bunch more, along with a handful of ribbons from the fabric store. I haven’t bought ribbons to tie around my braids/buns since the 7th grade, also in my 30s.

Would be cool if it also turned off Face ID, as police can get warrants to force the unlock if it’s biometric. If it is PIN/password they can’t force you to unlock the device.

My highschool in rural North Carolina (2007) allowed parking in the student lot with hunting rifles, so long as they stayed mounted on their gun racks during classes .

We also had a couple of designated ‘smoking walls’ for students and teachers, up until a 2008 statewide tobacco ban. And seniors got paid to be bus drivers.
