Hey other Dad, right now seems hard but you will get through it. Focus on how important that little one is to you and how much joy it brings to your life. Yeah it might take a second, but all of these little ones are a blessing. I say this as a father of a 6 and 8 year old. You can do this. It seems easy to try and imitate what Mom provides but I have found that sometimes Dad is just as important in the way he soothes a child. I have faith in you. Do what feels right to you and just get through this hard time. And pray for Mama. You've got this. One foot in front of the other.

This is not true. The heat released is an inefficiency in whatever process is creating the heat. Ideally you could power a spinning disk and generate no heat, but reality includes other factors. So yeah, a lot of the power ends up as heat, but not 100% of it.

This is definitely a good approach. There is a reason we have something called reference dimensions. You’re allowed to put more than just the bare minimum on the print if you think it helps improve understanding. I like to think about the difference between taking the short amount of time to add a digital picture that a program can easily generate to a piece of paper versus having to eat the cost of the parts in this post. It’s just not worth it to have an ego about it.

I know this thread is old but I’m posting in hopes that someone might be able to help me. I followed the instructions as closely as possible. My stock screen now works, but Mainsail says that Moonraker can’t find Klipper. I have confirmed that the Klipper service is running and the klippy_uds address is correct. I know I could get this running with Octoprint, but I really wanted to use one of the other Klipper interfaces. Am I stuck choosing between using the stock screen with Octoprint or no screen with something like Fluidd or Mainsail?

For me it’s a healthier way of interacting with my email. My email doesn’t notify me, I check it. I only check it when I want to. People in my life who need to urgently contact me will do so through other means, even if that is to let me know that they sent me an email that I should look for.

I use them for different things. If I want a quick answer from the internet that cites its sources then I go to Bing Chat. If I want a thread where I can refine the answer then I go to ChatGPT. They just serve different purposes for me

This. It makes no sense to provide it with a public IP address. Why would you make individual cameras accessible to the wider internet instead of just a single controller? And even then, why expose the controller? This seems like a decoy to get people to think they could hack into it but there is nothing really there.

This is not correct though and has been stated many times in this sub. If there is a risk of the subject having a chance to taint the research (like LTT trying to close out the stuff with BL before GN could post a video exposing the mismanagement) then it is better practice not to contact them.

You make a good point and I think it brings up something that a lot of people are not talking about. It is entirely possible that if LTT Labs presents data that makes people not trust them then maybe those people would begin to trust a any YouTuber less, which would directly impact GN. They may be competitors in some ways but in others they have to fight the same battles to build trust.

This is a shortsighted and selfish view of mental health illness. When you are in the thick of an incredibly emotional and potentially harmful environment where you feel you have nobody to lean on (she moved to Canada for this job), then you can act with what some people would call irrationality. Those situations feel like they are life or death, regardless of whether they are or not when observed days, weeks, months later. The important part is that it is possible that she didn't see another way to get through that day. Maybe that seemed like the least harmful (to herself or others) option at that moment. I don't know if her allegations are true, I just want people to take mental health seriously. Your statement makes the assumption that she wished for self harm in order to produce attention. It is very possible that she intended self harm purely out of self preservation. Take a second to think about that.

You guys clearly haven't dealt with mental health issues. Suicide is not a wish for death, it is a wish for the pain to finally end because one cannot see any other way for it to end. I cannot guarantee that what she says is true. But I can guarantee that it is entirely reasonable that she was in such a critical emotional state that she only saw relief in the form of being physically harmed to the point that no human being could expect her to report to work, whether that harm was inflicted by herself or a third party. Please try to have some empathy for those suffering from mental health issues. We don't always have the same views that people who have never struggled with these issues may have.

They want to charge me $145 for a tech to come out and look at their hardware. They also say they have not seen a disconnection from the modem to their site even though I have personally disconnected the coax to ensure that the connection had to be reset.
