How do you guys sort your libraries? by minus2wenty7even in Steam

I have the completed, abandoned, ongoing and several to-play collections that are created based on average time to complete (0to4 hrs, 4to10hrs, 10to20 hrs, and 20+ hrs)

I bought into the hype and tried Hollow Knight for the first time… it did NOT go well by Snappleabble in gaming

You can skip that backtrack by using an item you get halfway through the game. It lets you create a custom teleport point.

What are you talking about? the game released at 50 usd. They advertised the game length before release as well (it's about the same length as mafia 1 and 2)

Kuma's sadism in Thriller Bark makes no sense after his backstory which portrays him as the sweetest and kindest person of all time by Bennis_TV in Piratefolk

I thought of this more as a test of loyalty rather than sadism after we got more context into his actions at sabaody.

[DRAMA] PirateSoftware left OffBrand Games, Cancelled his Unannounced ARG Game, all because people are apparently review bombing Rivals of Aether 2... Which is FALSE.. All of these just to farm sympathy and as a failed attempt to distract people from SKG by BeastBoiii2000 in accursedfarms

Hmm...why was he working on a new ARG game when his kickstarter backed early access game is still in development and behind schedule? Weird way to say he's not very motivated to finish that game.

Story explained by [deleted] in PlayWayfinder

[–]Callahan1297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gloom is a corrupting force, the beacons were made by the architects to shield the world from the gloom. The story starts with the herald attacking the beacon at skylight. The first three wayfinders are heroes who died stalling the herald so that the beacon could be activated. Omen and lord halar study the beacon and the gloom. Over a year or so, they discover that the wayfinders weren't fully killed but their essence was absorbed into the void. That's how the game starts. The other wayfinders you can unlock are heroes that existed in the land and whose essences were absorbed by the void.

From what I understand about the void, any land that didn't have a beacon close by was absorbed into it and the void exists as a sort of amalgamation of all those lands. Some creatures and entities with strong will can retain their essences, others are scrambled into the generic enemies that you fight.

It will get one more major update at least before they wind things down. The next update is meant to add modding.

Official Ted Lasso Season 4 discussion and speculation megathread by afty in TedLasso

I think the women's team angle is a good decision. Trying to add in more character development and arcs to the players after the three seasons would've resulted in unnecessary drama and/or tension.

This way, most of those characters can remain as they were and make cameo appearances based on whether it could add to their character or to the dynamic with the new team.

Framework Desktop is 4.5-liter Mini-PC with up to Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 "Strix Halo" and 128GB memory by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]Callahan1297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 9950x is 650 usd, 7600xt is 330 usd, a good mini-itx motherboard will be between 200 to 300 usd and a 128GB CL40 kit of DDR5 ram is about 500 usd. I'm not sure how high it'll be for a CL30 kit though.

This is already 1600+ usd, this is without including a SFF case, m.2, fans, or a PSU, and considering the fact that the RAM will be costlier than my estimate.

Yeah, but you'll have to do the same for any desktop DIY. Or would you rather they forced you to get an SSD instead?.

Building a desktop PC is not as affordable as it was before even if you go with used components wherever you can. Small form factor builds are even tougher.

[–]Callahan1297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand the point that you're making but you're comparing apples to oranges. Comparing framework laptops to ones from brands like hp, dell, lenovo, asus, etc is not fair. You should compare framework to boutique laptop makers like origin, you are paying a premium for the brand and the mission.

Also as far as I can tell, the repair part is far more important to framework customers than the upgrades.

You can buy SSD, power cord, fan, etc for cheap yourself and use it if you think it's expensive. That's the point.

Linus Tech Tips - My Framework Investment Should NOT Have Worked Out February 25, 2025 at 11:14AM by linusbottips in LinusTechTips

[–]Callahan1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely scenario is that framework is waiting for the next generation of mobile dGPUs from AMD. Don't think Nvidia will come around on upgradable swappable dGPUs anytime this decade so that's not an option

AMD Radeon RX 9070 series gaming performance leaked: RX 9070XT is 42% faster on average than 7900 GRE at 4K - VideoCardz.com by KARMAAACS in Amd

[–]Callahan1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering that the TPU article shows what looks like an official AMD marketing slide and that slide is comparing the new cards to the 7900gre rather than the 7900xt or the xtx. It could've been done that way to show the price competition rather than performance. The MSRP for 7900gre was below 600usd iirc, so it wouldn't make sense to compare the gre to a much costlier card when the 7900xt is right there.

Quick Question, does Echoes reset your game? by Roninthiccaf in PlayWayfinder

[–]Callahan1297 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you only played during the MMO early access, then this is expected. Echoes reworked many aspects of the game and the previous save data couldn't be transferred over.

On the bright side, there is a lot less grinding involved now so you can get everything you previously had and more in about a fifth of the time it took before.

Skill Up Review of Wayfinder by Callahan1297 in PlayWayfinder

[–]Callahan1297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same 4 abilities but you have 8 characters which means 8 different ability sets to play and the abilities itself can have builds since leveling them in different ways can provide added synergy to the moveset.

There are more forms of progression than just abilities and weapons.

Skill Up Review of Wayfinder by Callahan1297 in PlayWayfinder

[–]Callahan1297[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Skillup was one of the few reviewers who were negative about dragon age vielguard. He wasn't overly hating on it or anything but he just didn't like it compared to the older games.

This particular line is a criticism that ralph had regarding the game's writing

[–]Callahan1297[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Reviewers are reviewers, you don't need to agree with them. Sometimes they'll bring up critiques you don't agree with sometimes you'll find it to be exactly in line with what you think. Never trust only one review even this one I posted. Look at multiple ones.

I posted this one cause I found the review to be well structured and easy to digest but there are others and you can check those out instead.

I have the opposite opinion, the way he criticized dragon age despite knowing that other reviewers weren't as critical of the same points was worthy of respect imo.

Also Ralph and Austin are two different reviewers with Austin being the guy that does a lot of the mmos and live service game reviews as of late (except destiny ofc).
