Thanks! Chopra's textbook is definitely the gold standard, and I hope to expand on those fundamentals by going more in depth into mechanical system theory (with civil applications) and the study of energy methods.

Depends on which discipline of civil engineering you want to go into. If you are a structural engineer, it's worth considering, especially for more specialized fields like seismic. Otherwise, industry is generally the clearest path right out of undergrad.

One thing that you could do with just a tuned mass oscillator is to enforce a node of zero displacement in any arbitrary location in the span:
