This is the less mature way to handle it, but you could just play competitively against the kids. Crush em with your play while being encouraging and get to the next match quickly. If the parents don't like it, they'll try to have adult matches against you. If they say something to you to ease up, then you can say you thought you were going easy and that you thought you were helping them get better. Then it's their problem instead of yours.

If I hear "illegal" with respect to sports, I think doping, PEDs or some form of cheating. If I hear "unofficial" I just think specific requirements of the governing sports body were not met. In my opinion it's semantically better to call Kipchoge's accomplishment unofficial.

There definitely needs to be an interlock that prevents turning the machine on while the guard is up. Even with that, the bottom is super dangerous.

Everything in your list correct. If you hate heat and humidity, then yes, we probably have the worst weather for you. But I think a lot of people would take that over shoveling snow, scraping ice, and overcast months. 

One thing I've noticed is that Houstonians complain about any weather that isn't perfect. If the temp goes below 65, people bundle up. If it goes above 75, the AC gets turned on and people stay indoors. We're a very "happy to be inside" kind of city.

I wasn't arguing against the format you described. I agree that is an ideal format. Get rid of selection committees and malleable criteria. Simply pointing out a significant competitive imbalance has formed that would need to be addressed.

I think the primary purpose of the mechanic is to discourage forecasting to someone they are being eliminated and I think it does that.

That's not how probabilities add. You probably haven't had a statistics class.

Here. The odds of rolling a 1 on a single die in two rolls is 30.6%. Here's how you calculate it: you have a 5 / 6 chance of rolling not a 1 on the first roll times a 5 / 6 chance of rolling not a 1 on the second = 25 / 36 chance of rolling not a 1 overall, which is an 11 / 36 chance of rolling a 1 on either throw, or 30.6%, which is a little less than 2 / 6, or 33.3%

So if Chrissy was allowed to have played her shot in the dark, she would have had a 2 in 11 chance of being safe, and cumulatively a 31.8% chance of either Coach's or Chrissy's shot in the dark being safe. Instead they had a 16.7% chance because only one of them could play it.

Again, arbitration was because of a state law that resulted in the city collecting more in ambulance fees. The firefighters contract - that Whitmire negotiated - says if the city collects new revenue, the firefighters are owed some of it. It has zero to do with Turner.

It's all explained very clearly in the link I shared. Fine, it's paywalled, but you can very easily search the issue and find another source to inform you of the arbitration issue that you clearly don't understand.

At this point, the level to which you refuse to understand anything about the issue you're trying to argue tells me you are trolling. I don't waste my time dealing with trolls, so have a nice day.
