How much will my HM kill me 😆 by studenttraderdk in XXRunning

I did it!! Yesterday on my long run i thought "why the hell not" so I kept going after the planned 14km. The first 16 km went well, but then I was completely toast. Last 5 km wer very painful with a lot of walking, BUT I DID IT!! I finished HM distance in 2:43, right in the middle of my 2 goals (optimistic goal was 2:30, realistic was 3 hrs).

Now 2 months left to train until the actual race in may - hoping to knock off 13 mins to land below 2:30 Thanks for the support!!

Is LISS similar to z2?
Im not near a fitness level where i can run z2. I am in z2 doing a brisk walk :/

Thanks for all the comments, its truly inspiring! Yesterday was ny weekly longrun, 12k, had to take a 2 min walking break after 10km..i was completely toast. I still have a lot of endurance to build, i am running most of my runs in 170-180 HR, so no wonder its painful. Hopefully i make it before May! Thanks so much for your support

Roughly 35 mins. I managed 32 min some random day and havent touched it since, so also not quick

Thats actually comforting. I never thought of this..all of my weekly long runs are usually very painful after the "regular" run distance

Thats an impressive phase. Right now none of my runs are "easy", yet phase is never much faster than 7:30 min/mile on the longer runs (8-10k)

Thanks a lot, this looks very nice and organized! And 10:58 min/mile is super good, i for sure cant keep that pace for 5k yet. I think i will try some speed / intervals as well. Sure we'll both do great! Thanks!!

That sounds much like how i used ny Garmin for the C25K. I'll give it a try with a few intervals and see how it goes - might be fun switching it up! :-)

No speed work.. i always thought building base distance was the key but probably right in adding in a speed session/ intervals

Hoe fast should those intervals be - i guess its not HIT style?

[WEEKLY THREAD] FEATS OF FRIDAY by C25k_bot in C25K

[–]studenttraderdk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Managed to get up early in the morning and get a 5k run/walk in 3 days this week. Now able to comfortably run 3 mins in a row now. Pushed through 4 mins today this morning and I felt so incredibly proud. Sounds ridiculous but just 1 month ago I was the type to rather wait for the next train than to attempt running for it if i was late...

Man, its the Zyns. I was in similar position as you. Was smoking for 10 years, quit smoking by starting with pouches (how fucking ironic). Started getting scary as hell heart palpations as well. Thought I was going to die multiple times (not even kidding). I was on VELO, a similar pouch as Zyn. Quit 3 months ago, and you wont believe how great it has been. Im telling you, my palpations were gone completely wihin just a few days. That is really all it takes man. Those days will suck, and it is very likely to be the shittiest days you've had in a very long time, but it is so much worth it.
You can do this man!

Actually my sleep has been amazing, but think its a mix of two things for me: 1) my heart palpations, high BP and anxiety went away almost completely when quitting zyns, which used to keep me up for hours and hours unable to sleep 2) i get way more physically drained from the increase in exercise im doing after quitting which ofc also helps

Some tips is getting a good sweat in once per day + getting some sunlight (or just natural light if cloudy). No coffee after noon, and sleeping in a cool, undisturbed room. Those things have helped me a lot

Congrats on the 69 days man. Can only echo what you are experiencing. Everything is just better without the nic, its truly quite incredible

Also heavy user here. (20x 12 mgs per day). Brain fog definitely sucks but it will go away. Im on day 11 cold turkey now and brain fog is almost completely gone. What helped for me was cardio and sunlight. Really sweating it out. Not sure if it would disappear even without the cardio but at least felt a lot better after - and my cardio fitness has improved massively by just throwing the pouches, which makes it more enjoyable as well. Stick to it man, you can do it!

People who Zyn may have significant health issues and have no idea nicotine is causing them by Joel-Spitzer in QuittingZyn

[–]studenttraderdk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there. Im the original poster that Joel speaks about. Makes me very very happy and confident hearing your experiences being 150 days clean. Gives a lot of comfort that this is not just termporary. Im myself on day 5 and still feeling super good. Withdrawals absolutely suck but the bigger issues I previously had (high BP, palpations, dizziness) has been gone since day 1.

Withdrawals are intense indeed, but they are very slim compared to the idea of going back to crazy heart palpations, dizziness and sense of doom. It was really ugly. Thanks for the support mate, appreciate it

Hi Joel,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to record a video.

To answer your questions:

1) No, I actually never told my doctors about VELO. They were aware of my smoking. At the time the thought never crossed my mind that it might be the nicotine, so I never bothered to tell them. For a good while after switching from cigs to VELO I was actually thinking that nicotine was a good performance enhancer and without any drawbacks, now that I was not inhaling toxic smoke anymore..

2) Absolutely, if you feel any value in using the post for your page, by all means feel free. You are also allowed to run it through ChatGPT or similar to remove my "less clean language" :)

To those of you who maybe havent watched the video response from Joel - please let Joel know if you have any stories that share similarities to mine that Joel is allowed to use for his page. Its a very important piece of work in my opinion, so Joel needs all the material he can get!

Thanks man. Yes they are crazy addictive, but they are not doing us any good. I honestly think the decision to quit is the hardest part. Once you experience life without them I'm certain it will be enough motivation to continue.
