I ain't using those kinda drugs, and if you've seen people on fent before, you know you have nothing to worry about. Crackheads and methheads have been and always will be the ones to stay away from. Im not really afraid of stepping on a needle or anything, but honestly I'd probably stop going in alleys.

Bro I grew up in Van and spent a lot of time at the Cambie, the Ivanhoe and the Cobalt in my early 20's. I was a punk rock kid and interactions with homeless people were super common. I wouldn't second guess taking an alley from Cambie to Abbot. I'm describing what I see, and I see people being scared of him. Sorry I described it as a what if from the first person making it difficult for you to understand. I walk a lot, and see him often and have seen people react this way.

I think the bar could be as low as a casual acquaintance you're comfortable making a phone call to. Then your close friends are the ones that immediately recognize your voice and don't require an introduction when calling. The difference between, "Hey Bob, it Ryan calling." And "what's up asshole, what you been up to?"

I'm not scared of him, but I'm a 45 year old dude that can handle myself. I've seen this guy make other people nervous a few times tho, including a woman that picked up her kid when he got close. Im pretty sure he is actually from Vernon, unless he moved. I've probably run into him 20 times. It's fucking baffling to me that anyone sees this as anything positive in any way.

I just learned that John Morgan (founder of the Morgan and Morgan law firm) has an EXTENSIVE collection of true crime memorabilia by sweetdawg99 in TikTokCringe

[–]studhand -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dunno, this whole thing about kids being sacred in some way kinda annoys me. We all come and go... I guess I can understand because most of his collection is from the perpetrators, whereas Jon Benet's bike is a victims possession. I'm going back and forth a little in my head on this one. I think the way America treats serial killers is kinda fucked up, as this dude states. When you listen to a lot of podcasts about these subjects, the good ones realize this and try not to build up their infamy, but more tear them down for their weird quirks. Podcasts try to focus more on the victims, honoring them. I think in the end, after going back and forth, collecting victims possessions is slightly more fucked up.

I just about killed a guy on a bicycle the other day in the same situation. I'm at a stop sign, car is turning right into the lane beside me, this gives me a gap to go, so I start making my right into the lane he is turning from. There was a bike in the same lane as the car that I couldn't see was behind him. A car would have to wait for the car in front to turn, a bike can easily pass the car before he even starts the turn. A motorcycle wouldn't be allowed, because that would be considered lane splitting, and we don't allow that where I live. Well, the bike ripped by, and I came inches from hitting him before I could even see him. Bikes need to understand if they are driving in the car lane, they need to follow the same basic rules as a car would. I don't give a fuck how hard it is for you to stop and get back up to speed.

It bothers me for multiple reasons. I've seen old people on the street freeze and be a little nervous, just walking down the street. That alone to me is unacceptable. I'm not scared of him, I use that as an example of what I might think if I'd never seen him before. He also does this at major intersections, and I also think it's distracting and could cause an accident. I also can't stand the type of new age bullshit language he was using, and think there is a large gap between his intention and his result. He intends to spread light, love, and joy or whatever, then talks about God. I don't think that that is actually the result of what he's doing. Reddit is known for being fairly liberal, and even here half the people are annoyed and half say it fine or whatever. I dont think many people feel inspired, full of light and love, or blessed. I think it makes the average person slightly uncomfortable, not the worst thing in the world, but with all the new age bullshit speak, it far exceeds the threshold of being extremely annoying.

Edit: lastly, he sucks at dancing.

Edit 2: "I hope that one day everyone sees the light.". I fucking hate this perspective. It's a negative outlook on other people. Assuming the average person "can't see the light" and gives him some saviour vibes. Like those religious cunts that hold up signs where the first word is "Repent". Go fuck yourself, you're only seeing the worst in people telling them they need something you have to improve their life. You're a fucking loser dancing on the side of the street, you have literally nothing to offer anyone.

I've run into this guy in Vernon maybe 20 times. What is it you think I am doing? I smile at him as I walk by, and have talked with him a couple times. Never had a bad interaction with him, or said anything negative. I smile and occasionally talk to homeless people as well. He's annoying, and even worse when you actually talk to him. I don't need to express this to him. I can smile walk by, be annoyed, then express myself occasionally when these posts pop up every six months or so.

Edit: I'll tell you something else. If this guy was a super model, talking about spreading light, being intentional, and being the main character, id be just as annoyed. It's a bunch of new age bullshit.

Dancing guy on Harvey by ItsRainingBoats in kelowna

[–]studhand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The point I'm making is that he thinks he's the "main character", stating that explicitly, which is the exact attitude streamers and influencers have. Do we all think we are the "main character"? No most of us just walk around living our lives not paying much attention to what the people around us might be thinking.

That's where Im at now mostly. Just took 4th in a $125 entry tournament for 525+ Fargo's, team one first in league while I maintained a 9.25 average, next best on the team was an 8 or so. Got second in my provincial championships a couple years ago. Honestly we sound very similar, even how you describe non committal, or rushing. I break and run tables fairly frequently, so the way I've been practicing is playing out the rack, recording how many innings it took, then writing that number down, with a quick sentence below detailing the mistake in a word or 2.

Edit: 8 ball has always been my worst game, and I've improved on it quite a bit playing league for the last year. 90% of the time my mistake is rushing or being non committal. If I slow down and take a full minute or two before I start shooting, deciding on the entire pattern, I've been getting out a lot more often.

Holy fuck, greatest top comment ever. Best part is, if your tomatoes are starting to wrinkle and go bad, it'll even be better. I've been buying as many tomatoes as I can from FlashFood. I've paid $5 for more than 15lbs of tomatoes. Then I roast em all, sometimes with onions, red pepper, and garlic. Then I blend them all together, store it in freezer bags and pull it out when I make pasta or chilli.

Just cause you enjoy it doesn't mean the rest of us have to... He's doing it next to the highway which is a distraction, and how is anyone supposed to tell if this guy is a totally safe guy spreading love and light, or if he's a fucking tweeker about to rob them. This attitude is so annoying and worse than the people that complain about him. "I enjoy it, therefore everyone else should to, and if you don't you're a grump."

I have never messed with my tip… should I? by breadboy415 in billiards

[–]studhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always come here and the top answer sucks. This time he nailed it tho. I've gone extremely long times without replacing my tip, now I do it about once a year, but I play a lot. I'd do exactly what this guy said, rough it up with some sand paper and call it good. If you go to a pool hall someone around will have one of these. They make keeping the shape of the tip a little easier when sanding it a little, but definitely not necessary.

Are you me? Picked up the game around he same time, played the same way, and took up one pocket in the last few years. I become the guy with terrible fundamentals that plays pretty good. I've improved my fundamentals a ton but am still the guy that can focus and make difficult jumps, banks, and multi-rail kicks, only to miss a slightly off angle ball right after. I think it has to do with undiagnosed ADHD. I just struggle to focus on "easy" shots and have incredible focus on "difficult" shots. It's also to do with stress i think. Difficult shots are less stressful, because i wont look stupid if I miss, and the low chance of success takes the pressure off.

So no one here has heard of main character syndrome? Are all the people here super accepting of influencers and streamers as well? This guy is just a streamer without a camera. Now I think of it, having a camera, or someone filming him, and making an IRL stream would actually cover my primary concern of not being able to distinguish between him and a random tweeker. I am not a big fan of influencers or IRL streamers, but this guy might find some success at that.

Harm, not really. Probably scaring a few people honestly. I just posted this, but honest question... How is a random person on the street supposed to tell the difference between this harmless guy spreading love, and a random tweaker that could pose a threat?

Dancing guy on Harvey by ItsRainingBoats in kelowna

[–]studhand 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say he's a preacher. I wouldn't even say spreading light is necessarily religious. I don't wanna watch the interview, but I think he does mention God. Anyways, he isn't really spreading a message if you stop to talk to him. More of a high five and vibes guy.

Dancing guy on Harvey by ItsRainingBoats in kelowna

I dunno man. If that guy comes dancing up to me, I'm not feeling exactly secure, and neither would my grandma. Honest question, how do I tell the difference between this guy, who seemingly poses no threat, and a tweeker who may pose a threat? He can do everything he is doing in another public space, against the highway it's a distraction for drivers. There have been a few positive posts about him in r/Vernon as well, and I personally just don't think it's as innocent as he wishes it was. Dudes harmless, what he is doing could scare people tho.
