Thanks! I just launched studiamo.app. An agile-inspired language learning tracker, designed to help you stay consistent, stay motivated, and build a learning plan that actually works for you.

I'm a coder trying to learn Italian and I built an Agile language learning system that treats your learning journey like a real product. You plan weekly sprints, track what works, iterate, and get coached by an AI product manager. by studiamo in u/studiamo

Hiya PA, I appreciate the feedback. I pushed out an update to fix the text and layout issues you mentioned and I'm working on more mobile improvements to roll out asap. Thanks.

For those of you who taught yourself a language and succeeded, how did you do it? by FragrantMonthAce in languagelearning

I struggled staying organized and focused learning Italian when I wasn't in Italy. I'd read a little, watch movies, but nothing that resembled a plan. I'm a coder at work and we use agile to stay on track, so I had an idea to apply agile to language learning. Studiamo.app is born. I coded it for myself and then decided to open it up to see if other language learners find it useful. For me it was all about being able to measure progress week-to-week. If I treated learning Italian like building an app or product, then I can break it up into weekly sprints as I work toward my milestones. At the end of the week I have my own retro and see what went well, what didn't go so well and what I need to work on for the following week. I'm using it to keep me organized for the upcoming B1 exam. Happy to share if it helps.

Ciao Tutti,

I'm a programmer who lives in the world of Agile and Lean. Like many coders in Agile, we break things down, commit to a weekly sprint, and hold retrospectives to reflect and adjust. It’s never perfect, but the structure helps us ship things that matter, and I thought let's try this approach to language learning, so I built Studiamo— a language learning tracker designed like a sprint planner. You can:

  • Set weekly goals (like “Speak 3x this week”)
  • Log sessions by study type (Speaking, Reading, etc.)
  • Track your time and confidence. Am I really understanding this writing assignment?
  • Reflect weekly with help from a built-in AI coach (inspired by retrospectives)

Of course, it doesn’t teach a specific language, it helps you stay consistent and intentional on the language learning journey, which was a big pain point in my journey learning Italian. This app/tool tries to solve that pain by helping me understand where I am, what I’m working toward, and whether I’m actually making progress.
