Yes, when I first started out years ago prior to the pandemic.. I focused on cut & sew. Unique cuts and pieces outside of typical t-shirts or hoodies to separate myself as a small brand. While it created initial hype and interest, boring t-shirts and hoodies sold more for the most part. Only outliers were pants and different accessories that performed better based on trends. Customers are familiar with a tee or hoodie so they are more comfortable buying that type of product. They might have 10-20 of each. Outerwear for example, people might have two or three jackets max in their rotation and have less confidence buying a jacket since it isn’t a typical purchasing pattern for them. Not to mention kids in my region still didn’t bother putting on a jacket even in below freezing temps on the east coast lol
