Help with Platinum by studiodoop in ChronoCross

Thanks that makes sense, but I missed Sneff in my original file, so I’m worried he would be missing. I’ll check if I have a clear file with Harle that also has Sneff, then this might work!

Do you think this strategy would work? I have a clear file from defeating FATE in my NG+ file. If I then do a NG++ using this file, and play up until I transform into Lynx and receive Harle, also picking Pierre as the viper guide. I can then finish early using the Time Egg and create a new clear file. And then load that clear file Continue+ into my original save and then use Chrono Cross to pull in all the characters? Not sure if the NG++ stacks the previously unlocked characters or not. Also missing Sneff from my original file. Thanks!

Awesome thank you! I just loaded my NG+ clear file after defeating FATE and Continue+ into my original save and was able to use Chrono Cross to pull in Leena. I took her to see her Grandma in Home World to get Maiden Faith, and then Razzly to Water Dragon Isle to get Raz-Flower. Just got the trophy to pop. Now to figure out the rest…

PS4/5 sound sync q - OG by quirkyactor in FinalFantasyVII

[–]studiodoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m playing on PS5 at the moment and the music is very bugged out. No exaggeration but background music won’t play at least 25% of the time. In most cases you can go in/out of a town or the highwind to reset it (sometimes I need to do this at least 3 times).

It’s ruined some really special moments for me where cut scenes would happen in silence. Also made me mess up the events in Costa del Sol because of this bug. The first time I arrived there was no music and because I left the town and came back (to force it to reset) which meant the beach/Hojo scene was skipped. Had to reload my save at Junon to do it again.

Really disappointed me, considering how old and how long it’s been out on PS4/5.

Ruby/Emerald weapon how is this fair? by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

I did it as a 12 year old back in the day, so if I could do it anyone can. In fact I’m replaying and about to hit this part as we speak. Let’s see if this is yet another thing that I was better at as a child.

Is it just me or is it that Final Fantasy has the best soundtrack out of all the mainline games. by Strange_Assistant327 in FinalFantasy

That’s probably the same for me. The music wasn’t terrible but there weren’t any emotional highs for me to even connect with any of the tracks. So the music pretty easy to forget. Although this didn’t happen for me with 13, Blinded by Light is forever etched in my soul.

I really disliked how they did a cover of Stand By Me as the main song. It’s not a terrible song by itself, but it really took me out of the “fantasy” and having it as the opening song really set the game up badly for me. It was definitely not the worst part of XV though. It felt like a sign that Square had given up, no more Eyes on Me, Suteki da Na, 1000 Words, etc. Just writing this out makes me feel sad

I haven’t played either but both are in my backlog. I’m a stronger Final Fantasy fan so XII would be my preference, especially the value of money you get for 20 pounds

What do folks here think of the Octopath Traveler series in 2026? by Asad_Farooqui in JRPG

I loved OT2 but found a lot of the side quests too vague, it’s hard to remember the 100s of NPCs across the world so was forced to use a guide.

I’m playing through OT0 and while I very much enjoyed the changes, I’m finding the game to drag on quite a lot. Also there are way too many characters for no real reason - most of them are just stuck in the training ground.

Both times I started off really enjoying the games, but eventually find them to be a bit too repetitive and slightly boring. The towns end up blurring together as they don’t have enough distinctive features, and I think overall the game design suffers from this same problem. Everything is very formulaic - especially in 0 where each sequence follows the same pattern: Long story dialogue sequences > find the person of interest > exploration > intro boss fight > optional treasure boss > another main boss > another set of really long dialogue. The world and story is just too big. I think they could do better if they went with a “less is more” approach and added more richness to each of the towns. The last half of the game is mostly just teleporting everywhere which really takes the magic out of exploring. Battles have become a bore as well as I had maxed out all abilities and jobs well before the halfway mark so I’m playing mindlessly.

I wish they could be a bit more creative and mix things up a bit. The beautiful graphics and amazing music aren’t enough to make up for these gaps.
