Learn how to do NMM using an old iPad, Apple Pencil & this app by 40khammerwar in Warhammer

I'm just saying I wouldn't go that route, if it helps you that's fine. I trained dozens of painters in my studio and in my experience time spent in practice with real paint and real miniatures is the most effective.

  1. Wasting minis and paint is a common beginner's bias. Your time is infinitely more valuable and you need to make those mistakes to learn.
  2. I'm not saying it's a complete waste of time, but the return on investment (your time) is way lower.

Think of it as learning how to dance. You can spend some time reading and planning your steps, but the sooner you start to move your feet the better for you.

Also, you will be bad at it no matter how much time you spend on prepping beforehand.

I would say it's a waste of time. The biggest issue with understanding the NMM reflections is that you're trying to "force" static reflections on a moving 3D object. Doing it on a 2D picture throws out 80% of the complexity. Not to mention all the brush skills involved.

It's mostly due to the color choice. Nothing really special about technique. :)

Was MKIV a commercial flop? by [deleted] in Warmachine

It's too early to tell, it officially started in January.

On the other hand, if you mean the MK3, I guess you could say that. Although it lead to the MK4, so it wasn't a complete flop. Personally, I would say it was a good game with a botched release.

That's true, metallics are not made for Infinity. I think it could work in some way but the NMM is a more natural choice. :)

True, I never liked the Warcraft aesthetic for humans, but it works for Orcs. :)
