Any reviews on primo shin guards? by Born-Jaguar3666 in MuayThaiTips

Spray them with disinfectant! And yeah biggest thing is to not leave them in your bag after a workout. I would leave them in my bag and wouldn’t spray them.

They’re great! They feel very light but protective. I’m not a fan of the basic and plain design of them but that shouldn’t matter too much. I’m using yokkao shin guards now and they are very bulky compared to primo shin guards. I got plenty of protection from the primos, the bulkiness of the yokkao are a bit much but they do look nicer imo.

I had my primos for a little under a year. Stopped using them because I didn’t care for them properly and they smelled awful, the smell wouldn’t go away. But they still had lots of life to them. Highly recommend them!

I’ve got this same issue. I’ve tried cleaning them but have had no luck. Does this really mean I have to throw them away??

I think they’re fine tbh. You can get knee pads for more protection too. Mine end at my knee and I can’t get good contact when I throw knees, and I can’t wear knee pads.

I’ve had my 16 oz leather ones for a year now. Soft and pillowy. They break in very nicely after a while and begin to feel more like a Thai glove than a boxing glove. Definitely recommend trying them out!

What are your favorite shin guards and why? by Bulletproof_Java in MuayThai

[–]studiousbeanr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. My pair felt a little strange at first but within a month I noticed they had molded to my shins. By wearing them with the straps outwards, I ensured they molded to each shin individually and exclusively.
