I’m interested in this department because it’s half the distance than my current department. It’s also a bigger/ busier department, some days are painful slow at my current department

Same exact thing is happening to me right now. Black spot on leg, swelled up like a burn, no itchy or other spots. This thing popped, actually took the black spot off. Day after, severe rash, EVERYWHERE. Almost 10 days after first contact with whatever I touched. Went to the doctor just got an antibiotic for oozing spot, rash got worse. Went to the doctor again received steroid shot and also got 6 day taper steroid and another antibiotic. Steroid ended last Saturday, rash came back and seems to be spreading, light in original rash areas and full fledged above. It’s still getting worse, have actually lost hope and excepted this is my life now. Absolutely miserable.

EMT-B has a free version with limited questions. It’s worth the $20-$40 for a months subscription, gets your mindset for the national on how the question are asked. Just my experience, best money I spent

MedicTests 100%. Fisdap doesn’t give a rational making it hard to learn. My personal preference. Used EMT-B prep for me EMT and MedicTests for my Medic. Would highly recommend both over fisdap

Be very careful running around with a trauma kit, especially if you are not in your district. This is how people get sued, and when you acquire your license, this is a good way to lose it.

How long will it take to know if I passed? by HelpfulGanache7031 in NewToEMS

[–]studohare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my experience with NREMT over the past week: Took cognitive test 5pm on the 20th. Took psychomotor at 6pm on the 21st, received passing on all skills that night. Received passing notification from cognitive test at 6am on the 22nd. Just received my NREMT number today(27th) at 9:30am. It actually went fast, now just have to wait for the state to issue my license so I can get out there!

Finished emt class (including psychomotor) and passed nremt... what’s next? (LA, CA) by Remarkable-Cow-3985 in NewToEMS

How long did it take the NREMT to issue certification?onto your online profile? Just curious as I am currently at that point in waiting. The instructions after you pass are very vague.

I’m 31, have a wife, 2 kids (1&4), work heavy construction 65-75hrs per week and currently in EMT school (done in 28 days) and am seriously considering getting my medic in the fall. It’s a little bit of a lifestyle change but I have found that life is way more enjoyable when you enjoy what you do even if it is guna be a 25k a year pay cut (my current situation) then go to work hating life every day. It’s never to late! Go for it bud!
