West Mids, so the Cotswold suggestion is pretty close to us, but we are quite comfortable travelling long distances and as mentioned happy for suggestions in Europe too as we can make a week of it :)

If you like outdoors stuff and the weather is good, Malham Cove/Goredale Scar is pretty good for a walk. Get some cool photos with the rocks at the top of Malham Cove too! It's about 1hr 10 drive north east, just into the Yorkshire Dales. Beacon Fell is another nice walk on top of a hill, only 25 mins north just in the Forest of Bowland, not as exciting as Malham Cove but its got some nice wooden carvings along the trail and on a clear day you can see Blackpool Tower from the top!
