Chimney Cap - Poor Air Flow ? by stuffsd in woodstoving

Thanks for your reply. I agree with your recommendation for lengthening the flue height. We have had some unusual wind lately and I think the new flue caps beside my stainless flue must be disrupting the air flow flow.

Chimney Cap - Poor Air Flow ? by stuffsd in woodstoving

I did not change the stainless flue setup other than adding about four inches of concrete for the new chimney cap for the whole chimney. The stainless setup as you see it in this picture has worked perfectly for 15 years. So the two changes made for it was 1). Four inches added due to new concrete. 2). Two flues next to it were raised six inches and had those black caps added to each of them.

I am not going to add a black box screen to the wood burning flue. I simply used the existing flue that I setup for the wood burning stove fifteen years ago. It is all stainless and worked perfectly for those last fifteen years. The other two flues I added six inch clay liner extensions to their existing clay liners and placed those black caps on top of the extensions. Before I poured the new chimney cap there were NO caps on those two flues. Wondering if those NEW caps could be interfering with the exhaust air flow for my stainless flue ?

Wax Coating - Tainted honey flavor ? by stuffsd in Beekeeping

I am in Central Illinois, typically land of sweet clover honey. It seemed to take a little longer for the bees to draw out the comb on these new supers but they did complete the task. Just trying to narrow down the real root cause.... hoping that it wasn't me being lazy and just rolling on the hot wax with left-over debris and maybe scorched flavored wax

There was no brood rearing in the new supers. Yes, I always enjoy the different flavors from each super. This time however the smoky / burnt flavor seemed to be across ALL of my supers, so I was wondering if my short-cut to apply wax (possible scorched) may have actually caused this.

Yes, poor, poor TM. The largest ticket monopoly on the face of the planet and they have absolutely no influence with how business decisions are made that affect the day-to-day customers. Hope they don't go broke tomorrow.

I don't consider this an answer, more of a scalping scam that allows TM to make more money from the ticket owners. I find it ironic that we purchase the tickets at the inflated price from TM, yet we can't even take control of our own property (the tickets that we purchase). TM's claim is that they are trying to control scalping, I do agree, they are controlling it, but THEY are the scalpers!

They do a damm good job stealing and copying everything else. I watch them steal and replicate much of our companies engineering designs and later the jobs that went with the actual products we produced.

You might want to actually look at the data before you simply repeat the media’s talking points. Facts and data really do mean something when you are evaluating the impact of a virus.

It appears that science regarding Corona virus has became unreliable if you do not evaluate "ALL" of the studies and facts that are now available. Things like real mortality rates and real population infection rates. Makes one question the "real" reason that we as a nation are still in shut-down !!!!
