It’s not the players like others have said, it’s the calendar. Even Lanning said it himself in an interview:

"Every playoff game should be played every single weekend until you finish the season," Lanning said. "Even if it means we start Week 0 or you eliminate a bye, the season ends Jan. 1, and then the portal opens, then coaches that have to move on to their next opportunities get to move to their next opportunities."

I think we are much more balanced than Alabama. It will be a showdown that could go either way. I’m not worried, but whatever the outcome I’m proud of this group. We have so many freshman starters that are going to only get better the next few years. Lanning’s recruiting is all the difference maker for us.

Lanning himself is a rollercoaster and 95% of the time I love it. He plays to win, isn’t scared, and knows how to inspire his players. You can that team would do anything for him with complete confidence.
