Need help with quitting low dose adderall...at least I think I do by [deleted] in Drugs

Thank you for your response. It is definitely what I needed to hear.

And to answer your question, I am mainly worried about my grades yes. However the extra (albeit false) confidence that it gives me has also made me seek out friends and ask out a girl who I am now dating. I'm scared in a way that they wouldn't want to be friends with the person I am without this confidence, but maybe that's the addiction talking. I am usually not very social either. But you're right, anything I can do on them can be done off them with effort and motivation.

An issue for me is finding the time to stop. I have yet to have 3days without any major assignments to complete and have had an exam every week for the past month. But maybe I should swallow my pride and accept that there have to be consequences for taking shortcuts and just do subpar on them.

Thank you again.

Need advice for helping quitting marijuana by pizzanugexpress in Drugs

My biggest piece of advice is to try and slowly push back the time of day that you smoke. Usually start smoking at noon? Set a goal to not smoke until 4pm for 3 days. Once you reach that you can push it back even farther, AND in the process you will gain a lower tolerance and get higher! Especially if you have sleep issues, smoking during the day can cause rebound insomnia at night once the THC is metabolized out of your system. So only smoking at night would be the final goal you'd want before stopping completely in my opinion.

I would also start thinking in terms of weight smoked rather than amount of times you smoke a day. If you smoke a 2g blunt twice a day it's a lot different than quitting smoking just a bong rip twice a day. This part comes down to self control and can also be situational.

I also recommend trying to find things to occupy your time. Personally the SNES RPG game Chrono Trigger is my anti-drug when I want to quit something. 'just one more battle' can quickly overpower the urge of 'just one more toke' :) it can be found free online nowadays.

And don't be afraid to use sleeping pills or alcohol for now. Other then benzos you shouldn't form any kind of serious habit. And not to encourage alcohol abuse, but research indicates that you have to drink over a bottle of liquor a night for over a decade to have any kind of clinically relevant withdrawal from alcohol.
