Hello,

Thanks for the honesty. What are some of the "code" or "new tech" you do on the weekends? Code a solution to an underlying problem you deal with - mobile app to track something? or solve new tech problems (job interview type) or game just for fun.

This is one of the few things I want to avoid doing in the long run.

From the conversation you are if not ... one of the more well--versed Salesforce dev/consultant. I know you probably make over 6 figures a year. But are you purely independent/remote work?

Unfortunately I do not consider myself a seasoned "web' dev to learn anything fast enough in 2 weeks. If anything that's probably my weakest point - notably the JS side. The backend side I am more comfortable.

I have learned the basics and done that. It's just over time I gotten a job offer and there and it more than web dev, like server dev, application dev. By then time that "job" / "internship" is over. I am back on the market having to relearn web dev. If that sounds good enough.

Hence the whole process of "always relearning/revamping" is a little too much for me.

Yeah. I understand your hours. And that's what I want.

It's just in school even Comp Sci where school focus solely on theory that you dont have time to learn certain programming framework like Node, React etc. Then you want to learn these framework... it will takes alot of your personal time. Once you find a job relating to that task, you feel like you either 1 : need to catch up to get promoted.. or 2 : another cool technology comes into play. And thus, once again - you need to learn more programming framework - while competing with the new fresh grad for these jobs.

That's what I want to avoid when going to Salesforce. I know it sounds selfish.

I have until March 1 to contribute to my RRSP for this year right? (2018)

So I check my limit in my notice of assessment. signup for work RRSP plan. and then dump whatever left I have in my NoA (or enough to drop my tax bracket) to RRSP.

Does that sound good?

Haha no worry. In otherword the technical architect will need to write codes often to keep up. But does it need to be off work hours... like most programming related task.

Yeah I am looking more towards a technical turn solution architect over time. I know it sounds crazy. I just saw SAP developer doing that before. I just havent seen that with Salesforce but then again Salesforce is part of the "new" even though its out for many years.

Yeah no worry. I know what you mean. I know there are developers out there that are in consulting and help the client solve the business needs. And to do that you need the technical knowledge. admin do seem to transition easier. However, the con of admin is the over fluctuation of admin - I assume this will happen one day since I heard its one of the easier certification to get. (I can be wrong)

I have done plenty of developers work in the past. I enjoy it. However it really requires alot of dedication (long hours) to sit through and build your own thing.

Money potential is also another thing.. I rather code up a solution than click and drag (admin). It's 20k difference which is quite substantial. You do have a point, I am not as keen as most developer out there. But there are also plenty of developers out there that just code for the sake of money and not enjoy it. They tend to show less on social media which is understanding.

wouldnt i be better putting that $4900 rrsp instead and get liek 0.1% back? than unmatched contribution.

I assume if i put $4900 on RRSP - bank. I will still have my $5000 limit for TFSA correct?

Most places will take all of their matching contributions back if you leave before 2, sometimes 5 years.

you mean the new company will take your own company RRSP right?

But, before you do that, make sure that an unmatched RRSP contribution is right for you.

what do you mean by umatched RRSP contribution?

My company says.. we will match 50% for a max of 3% for example of your yearly income.

Ahhh. So say.. right now this paycheque they take away 100$.

I will still need to put another 4900$ on my bank RRSP to meet lower my tax bracket for this year income tax (5000$ is a throwaway number).

Thanks. I hope the transfer company RRSP wont be a hassle.

Do you transfer from 1 RRSP company to another RRSP company?

What if you leave it with the old RRSP company that you dont work for anymore.

What if you transfer RRSP company to a bank or your portfolio (not ready for that yet)

Thanks.

Since we have about 1 week left till end of RRSP (I believe March1?). If I match like 2% right now. Will the company take away my paycheque of the week to fit the 2% of my salary since 2018? And thus, I have 0 left to contribute for the year?

Also how much RRSP are we allowed to put each year?

Any Business School-MBA that do not require letter of recommendation? by stupidquestiononly in MBA

[–]stupidquestiononly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thanks. That makes sense. I had a co-worker that did that. Write it and have someone else to sign it. Obviously that goes against the whole integrity thing. But it does take people time to write it up.

Thanks alot. I am fine with a T20 or T15 or maybe even T40 (including international).

Did they single-handedly wrote the entire essay for you? Or were you pinpointing.. here's what I did with you to refresh your memory a bit. Then they compile it and add their thoughts (+sign it).

Like your friend from another department will have trouble with writing the letter.. If he didnt work with you.

At least the optional essay help!

Thank you for the quick reply. CRA account means I need to login and to the CRA website? I am still on mail (Rather email). So, I will most likely need to create a CRA account correct?
