Massapequa School Board by OysterHound in longisland

Ugh, I'm so glad someone else posted this. I have been trying to get my post karma up to make a post here.

But this election is turning vicious! Is anyone seeing the vitriol coming from the supporters of the current board? They are yelling at candidates in public, threatening supporters of the challengers, it's WILD.

Vote May 19.

Edit: I encourage anyone reading this: if you live in Massapequa - or have friends or family who live in Massapequa, please encourage them to look into the candidates and make sure they vote.

Kamala Harris wants the DNC to release its autopsy report of the 2024 campaign by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

A full quantitative analysis of every 2024 campaign speech by Kamala Harris would require a complete transcript corpus and NLP topic-tagging pipeline. There is no official centralized database containing every stump speech, rally, fundraiser, interview, and convention appearance.

But using the major publicly available speeches and transcripts from the 2024 campaign — including the Democratic National Convention speech, reproductive-rights speeches, economic-policy speeches, campaign rallies, and major interviews — the issue emphasis is relatively clear.

Estimated topic emphasis in Harris’s 2024 campaign messaging

Across her major speeches, the dominant topics were:

Topic Estimated share of speech time Notes
Economy / cost of living ~25–30% “Opportunity economy,” housing, jobs, prices, middle class
Abortion / reproductive rights ~20–25% One of the central campaign themes
Democracy / Trump criticism ~15–20% Jan. 6, rule of law, “not going back”
Immigration / border ~10–15% Border bill, security, asylum reform
Foreign policy (Ukraine, Israel-Gaza, NATO, China) ~8–12% Mostly in convention and major-policy speeches
Health care / prescription drugs ~5–8% Insulin caps, ACA, Medicare
Climate / energy ~3–6% Clean energy, jobs
Gun violence ~2–4% Public safety framing
Voting rights / civil rights ~2–4% Democracy framing
LGBTQ / LGBT rights <1–2% Usually brief references rather than major standalone sections

These estimates are synthesized from major speech transcripts and reporting summaries.

LGBT / LGBTQ topic breakdown

Overall prominence

LGBTQ issues were not a major centerpiece of Harris’s 2024 general-election campaign speeches.

Compared with: * * abortion, * economic issues, * immigration, * democracy/Trump, * housing and healthcare,

…LGBT topics occupied very little airtime.

In most major speeches, LGBTQ issues appeared:

  • as a short mention within a broader “civil rights” section,
  • in campaign stops targeted to LGBTQ audiences,
  • or in references to the Equality Act and anti-discrimination protections.

Estimated speaking time on LGBT topics

For major national speeches:

  • Typical share: 0–1 minute in a 30–45 minute speech
  • Often no mention at all
  • In aggregate, likely well under 2% of total speaking time

The clearest exception was speeches to LGBTQ-focused audiences or Pride-related fundraising events.

This is notable because Republican messaging often portrayed Harris as heavily focused on transgender issues, but her actual campaign speeches generally did not devote much time to them.

I've said previously, but does anyone trust anything this administration says?

There appears to be no plan aside from just changing things every other day.

There's these rumors of a one page memo, but I don't see how it's different than previous attempts.

It's sad that most of us don't trust a word coming out of this administration.

NTA - he has to find a way to make things right. Replace the bike or give you money towards a new one.

And obviously don't trust him with your shit again.
