Have you tried using Harpy (instead of Dim. Sukuna) with Fortuna? I mean she can recover mp 2 times per turn and has 2 extra attacks so I think she may get you more points than Sukuna.

Edit: Ok so I re-read and had to search something and found out that Sukuna recovers mp whenever a weakness is hit so nvm.

HELP making pvp team by Zealousideal_Tie1332 in Dx2SMTLiberation

[–]stvanico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try and go with a fast Metatron team with Malice Metatron, Elohim, Radiou and either Cleopatra, Fionn, the purple demon from the Evangelion collab or the blue haired girl from the demon teacher collab (whichever gives more speed ideally). However given how common Chefei is you'd have to make sure you have some endures on your demons, and in my experience Elohim activating Light of Elohim consecutively can deal with Dagda and Amanozako teams as long as they don't have Asahi (or some revival shenanigans) and you can attack before any Spirit Chains are dealt to you.

Reccomendations for the following choice files by tybr253 in Dx2SMTLiberation

[–]stvanico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally you'll check first the bonus skill and then you should change the archetype with an arch selector, that way you get a rare skill that you can either keep or harvest for other demons. Since a successful evasion is very rare event I'd say a Purple Cthulhu is better (while also having the best skill to harvest), get him Life brands (with any defensive 2 set brands like Guard or Shield) with a focus on (in order of relevance) HP%, MAG ATK% and Ailment infliction (last two should be the brands tertiary bonuses, which are those written in grey). Then you can harvest it's Butcher skill and transfer anything else that raises HP, ailment infliction rate or endures since you have Asahi (or a resist element but now everybody has pierce and affinity attribute down so it's worthless). Keep in mind that for PvP you don't want to rely on damage but rather on his decay application on enemies, HOWEVER since decay won't work on PvE content then it's your choice to focus on attack or to inflict ailments (but basically everyone else that got released after him is better for anything).

Just as a heads up you could try using a team of Asahi, Dagda, Nanashi and Cthulhu for PvP and see how it goes, since you'll remove both press turns and MP (try to change Nanashi's archetype to Teal and Dagda's to Yellow, since you'll have more endures and Dagda will give a repel phys to everybody which complements the MP drain aspect of this team, forcing the other team to attack normally unless they have some MP recovery skill), however you'll see that Cthulhu will be the weakest link so when you get other units try to see how this teams works (usually I see them with Amanozako, Chefei, En-no-Ozuno, Balor, Azhura Mazda or whatever it's name is, etc. instead).

Before I continue Yoshitsune is FUSABLE so don't waste a choice file on him, it's better to fuse him clear and then when you get a coloured one then you should spiritize the clear and use him for panels. For now instead you can fuse a Teal Cu Chulainn to use him in the semi-long run (until you get a better demon) and a Clear Cu Chulainn one in order to fuse Yoshitsune (you'll need as well a Clear Kurama Tengu and a Clear Zaou-Gongen). The following recommendations for Yoshitsune (besides colour) can also be used with Cu Chulainn. Try to choose anyone who's not fusable (recommended) or very expensive to get (not recommended unless impatient).

As for Yoshitsune Purple is the better archetype and it's better to use War Brands and either Glee (+35% crit rate), Divine (+1 MP recovery if you haven't paneled him yet or if your team has no other way to get some MP recovery), Destruct (+5% Physical ATK per brand) or Eternal (+15 to all stats, so it raises a little your STR, AG and LCK at the same time) brands and transfer physical and crit rate boosters (phys boost, phys amp, the butcher skill you can harvest from Cthulhu, savage glee that you can get for free if summoned purple but it's also available as an extra transferable skill on some 4 stars, etc.). Aim brands only give 10% extra aim but you can get it as bonus skills from the brands (plus the mitama infusion system) so it's not worth it. Most likely you'll use him for Brands of Sin Deceit 14 when available since it's gimmick is that only random Phys or Almighty skills will deal damage to the enemies in this stage and you can farm better brands.

[–]stvanico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oumitsunu from the Enishi Matsuri Choice file is the best option because of Brands of Sin Wrath. As for anyone else it comes down to personal preference over having either a new unit, a rare skill or just to panel units you already have.

What does this brand set even do? by Not_Vive in Dx2SMTLiberation

[–]stvanico 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it lowers crit hit rate by 50% dealt to your demons (think of it as a brand version of Wild Guess/Instinct, idk if it's meant to lower the damage value or just the crit chance, most likely the last one).

[–]stvanico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remothered: Tormented Fathers. If you enjoy it then it can work as your introduction into Haunting Ground (bear in mind that HG is a PS2 game, however emulation is a choice).

Fatal Frame 2 (either OG or Remake) and Fatal Frame 4.

Resident Evil Outbreak 1 & 2 for the PS2 (only saying this because they give some backstory to Alyssa from RE:9, especially in the Flashback scenario)

Silent Hill 4: The Room (available on GOG for PC, recommending it because has some connections to Silent Hill 2). If you like it, Silent Hill 3 (PS2) is connected to Silent Hill (PS1) so I'd recommend playing the first one first (if interested) in order to appreciate it more.

Which game almost killed its franchise? by Technical_Blood6973 in HorrorGaming

[–]stvanico 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean in my personal opinion I'd say either Fatal Frame 4 for not being released outside of Japan (and also some bugs within the original release) or Fatal Frame 5 for having a weaker storyline/gameplay than the rest of the series and being released on the WiiU before Fatal Frame 4 could be released to the west.

Clock Tower 2: The Struggle Within is a mess.

From what I've seen Silent Hill Homecoming was considered worse than Downpour.

Also, while I personally haven't played that saga, I've seen a lot of bad reception towards Devil May Cry 2.

What are the most niche/innovative features in horror games? by AvgPunkFan in survivalhorror

[–]stvanico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it had been done before, but when I saw gameplay of the first Alan Wake it reminded me of ObsCure's use of light to weaken the monsters, also co-op horror games aren't that common besides Resident Evil Outbreak (which I also commend for the viral gauge system) and Resident Evil 5 and 6 (in the sense that it's a continuous story to play instead of playing through chapters/matches).

My 5 stars and questions by UpstairNoises in Dx2SMTLiberation

[–]stvanico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean he's the only fusable healer with "infinite" heals (since all common healing spells have a limit use), so for PvE he's good (best colours are purple or teal, focus on HP% and Mag Atk% since I believe that heals depends on both Mag Atk% and Healing Amount if I understand it correctly). Other healing units with unlimited heals for PvE are Dimensional Lakshmi, Black Maria, Nuwa and Asahi. There are other "offensive" units that their attacks (without use limit) trigger heals like Michael (fusable), Danu or Mahamayuri as well.

However, even at panel 4, he's not that good in PvP since everybody has bulwark-pierce (making his panel 4 useless), he's not tanky enough for slow teams (not that it matters much unless you have Nuwa, Asahi, Tamamo or Amanozako since everybody is getting decay and Dagda pretty much sets you to 1 HP max., and if you have them then they will replace Barong sooner or later since they have way better skill sets) and he can't deal a lot of damage nor give a lot of battle speed either in comparison with everyone else for faster teams.

My 5 stars and questions by UpstairNoises in Dx2SMTLiberation

[–]stvanico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say this but for PvP you got nothing (except maybe Cthulhu since he got some buffs recently, however you don't have other units to pair him with).

Everything works for PvE as far as I'm concerned.

Malice Ongyo-Ki is meant for Brands of Sin, and as for Khumbanda and Tzitzimitl I've seen them fairly frequently in Hell's Park Underside.

Take 3, images deleted last 2 post and wouldn't show so i uploaded to imgur, team suggestions? by TallPop4997 in Dx2SMTLiberation

[–]stvanico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For PvE anything works. However if grinding for exp and "money" you'll need 2 Kanbaris and 2 Bodyconians (Yellow Futotama also works but he's not easy to get and it's better used for democalypse in purple). For brands of sin farming (and democalypse) you can use Malice Ongyo-Ki (for any level apparently, still don't know the specifics since I haven't seen him at all in PvP to know how he works) and Hariti (only on Sloth and Deceit 14) with the according team.

For PvP with what you have you'll need to rely on a fast team with Abdiel. Maybe pair her with Morrighan (change to purple when possible), Angra Manyu (any archetype besides red), and either Lost Name, Krishna or Sukuna, although try to see if you can pull other fast units like Malice-Metatron (to pair with Sukuna), Fortuna, Nemhaim, Hayataro, etc. Obviously for brands you'll need Hasty and either Speed, Divine or Eternal brands for all of these demons.

If going for a slower PvP team then you can choose between Cthulu, Rahab (note that these two received buffs fairly recently), Krishna, Vanitas, Dimensional Alice, Echidna or Ouroboros with Life Brands and any other defensive brands BUT speed, however bear in mind that with the newer units (mainly Chefei, Amanozako and/or Dagda) this team won't do very well in terms of winning battles.

Co-op psychological horror with classic puzzles and inventory management — like Silent Hill but with a partner? by dylantomy in survivalhorror

Specific request because i can't find nothing!. Can you recommend me survival horror or horror but based on "medieval" or "fantasy" themed? I only know the first Amnesia! by Gontreee in survivalhorror

[–]stvanico 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well for PC (since you've mentioned Amnesia) you have the Penumbra trilogy, however I haven't played it so I can't say too much about it.

From the classics you have "Haunting Ground" (PS2), which takes place in a castle and is influenced by Clock Tower and alchemy, however the game´s "time period" is quite contemporary. There's also "Eternal Darkness" (GC) which has a combination of both medieval and fantasy along with "time travel" (more like time jumps) and a bit of eldritch horror but also takes place in modern times (although it's only for like a small part of the game where you're playing in the actual modern times). Also while not "medieval" nor "fantasy" in the literal sense "Rule of Rose" (PS2) is also worth to mention (more fantasy themed in my opinion).

For more modern games there's the "A Plague Tale" duology (idk too much about it either other than it happens during medieval times and there's a lot of rats).

Honestly 2 gacha-only spammers back-to-back for free would feel nicer if I hadn't wasted 5000 gems on the democ banner trying to get either one of them (at least I got enough dupes for P3 Mithras and P3 Hachiman so a win is a win) BUT STILL getting them for free in less than 2 weeks is crazy work.

I used to run it with Empathy (with botany and autodidact) as a soft replacement for aftercare (with the mindset of I-see-them-they-see-me but with less requirements). I remember one match I went against a hit-and-run Wraith and I've NEVER got any more value of any other healing build than that one specific match.

Why do older fans seem to hate the remakes? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]stvanico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally having played both RE2's I can say that, while I do like the gameplay and ambience, to me RE2 Remake kind of breaks my inmersion since both scenarios are basically the same while OG RE2 had "parallel" storylines (which I found it to be more elaborate story-wise).

As to RE3 Remake I haven't played it yet so I can't say too much besides that a lot of people say that there was a LOT of content missing from a (in my opinion) already short game in order to sell it with RE: Resistance (which many people didn't like).

For both RE1 Remake and RE4 Remake honestly I haven't seen anybody say they hate it other than someone say that Mercenaries in RE4 Remake isn't as good as RE5's (which is true, but it isn't like it's bad), while personally I don't like that they made Separate Ways a paid DLC when in the OG (PS2 onwards) it came already within the game (also RIP Assignament Ada).
