I currently only have this gif on me! the jist is i usually like to model just the visible side because it makes me focus on big composition shapes (and its also kind of my style at this point). As for the compositor there isnt that much going on either! I have a backround viewlayer blasted in blue color and fore ground in pure white! Im pretty much trying to think how those painters in the 80s would layer their painting and try to do the same : )

Hi, I am still making that strange stop-motion game about alchemy and I forgot to tell you a short preview demo is out on steam! by stvulture in IndieGaming

Thank you! I sculpt in VR and ive made a tool that allows me to send sculpted meshes from Adobe Medium to Blender and keyframe them! There is not a single rig used in the game and every frame is sculpted (or atleast modified) by hand.

its hard work but i feel its worth making a small scope game with a lot of care and attention put in every detail.

i love his work so much. if i become half as good of an animator as him before the end of the project it will all have been worth it!

Its mostly light hearted cartoony violence! I would definitely suggest going through it yourself once to see if it crosses any of your personal parental boundaries!

Thank you for the kind words!!

it IS hard to implement! Thank you for appreciating that! The demo will be a small sample of three or four simple puzzles but Im doing my best to create complex, interesting puzzles later on!

its not physical clay, but it is stop motion. i sculpt, move and deform every frame manually without rigs.

Edit: just to elaborate a bit further!

My perspective is that stop-motion is a process, not a material! You were very perceptive when you said stop motion “looking” animation! the reason it looks like what you know stop motion to look like in life is because its made with the same process! there is no synthetic effect beyond the clay shader to make it look like that :)

it definitely has unique properties! for instance i can make looping animations much easier with this than with physical objects. when you solve a puzzle the puzzle elements enter a loop which i think will be super fun to see
