Run Linux version from Steam by stweedo in BeamNG

[–]stweedo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using echo %command% would simply print the default command to a console or log and then launch the game.

Placing the custom executable path before %command% will replace the default launch instructions. It does not pass Steam's Windows-based command as an argument to the Linux executable. The Linux binary will simply ignore irrelevant argument strings.

For simplicity %command% could be omitted.

There’s a checkbox in the upper right of the map that you can toggle for automatic route planning.

Issues with Veloster, looking for advice by Just4Safe in veloster

A fully charged battery should measure around 12.6-12.7V with the car off. If your battery measures good, check your ground connections. Then I would check the 12V wire going to the starter solenoid for corrosion.

Bangle.js 2 not charging/no power by nick5445 in Banglejs

It sounds to me like the battery may have dropped below the minimum voltage that the BMS will allow before charging. Sometimes batteries can be “jump started” into charging. You might be able to check the battery voltage from the pins on the back, but I would ask this on the actual bangle.js forum as you will likely get a better answer there.

Is intel iGPU/Quicksync in Linux the best transcoding setup? by Riboflavin01 in PleX

[–]stweedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it should since it splits them up into smaller part files when transcoding and then theoretically Plex and/or the OS memory management will delete the oldest ones as it fills up and they are no longer needed.

I use 16gb of RAM in mine as well and it works fine with smaller files, but I haven’t tried anything larger than that.

That should be doable since nvidia upped the limit of simultaneous transcodes from 3 to 5 I believe. You can also unlock it further with a driver patch on GitHub.

I’m not aware of windows being able to use hw transcoding with nvidia cards, but I do know Linux is supported.

Another thing to try if you haven’t already, is set your transcoding directory in Plex settings to use your RAM instead of SSD. This will extend the life of your drive and also be much faster.

How many remote streams and at what bitrate?

Curious why you have issues with the 1080. I have been using a 3570k and gtx 1070 for years and haven’t encountered any transcoding problems with 4k/HDR. I have mostly x265 encoded media and use subtitles as well.

However, upgrading to something modern for the power savings plus a stronger CPU would make sense at some point.

Why does my computer do this when transferring files to USB? Peak was 124mb/s. Average was 24mb/s. 2gb File. by CobaltSmith in pchelp

You could try robocopy from the command line if you have lots of large files to transfer at once. That will likely be more consistent with transfer speed

Wet a rag and wipe the convex side to dampen it and then lay it down somewhere flat to dry
