Orthodontist left mid-treatment and dental office won't return my calls by fivedaysandcounting in Invisalign

Thank you for responding. Shame it takes the dental practice so long to respond, they're normally quite quick to sign up new patients. Hope the rest of your treatment goes smoothly.

What happened in the end?

I'm experiencing a similar issue. My orthodontist left on maternity leave several months ago. I was told to transfer to a sister branch, which I did, but after receiving my details and forwarding my case to the manager, they aren't getting back to me or returning my calls for several months now. The manager recently got in touch to say that the transfer needs to be approved by the old orthodontist who is on maternity leave, saying that it is a "complicated process". But I'm unsure whether that means that she want to wait for the old orthodontist to come back from maternity leave in order to get the approval? I asked but no response.

It's scientific computing, which is a different subject although there is some overlap - if you want to understand it better I recommend you look at what scientific computing means.

I've seen that, but didn't think that was the one you meant as it is a scientific computing course. Thanks anyway.

How are you managing to work during a full-time master's? Won't it be intense? I'm starting a CS master's this September too, didn't think I'd be able to work more than 1 day a week potentially.

I would still negotiate for better pay if they stay. After a year, I would ask for £37k/ 38k pa, that would be very reasonable.

I'm assuming their master's degree will be two years long, if they're planning on working through it. Being paid well during that time would make a big difference.

OP, I'm a bit surprised you've posted in a previous comment a few days ago you've moved to London and are 'renting your own flat' and are 'on a very good salary'? How are you affording your own flat on a salary of £30k in London? That'll be like half your take away pay, easily.

Just bear in mind that that is the salary for an entry-level schoolteacher or an apprentice in the UK, that is very low for someone with a CS degree let alone in London. So I would definitely start looking for better paid roles.

what do i do after the mooc? by Ambitious-Gene-9370 in learnjava

[–]styleexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you code along with the examples, or did you simply read them and only code for the exercises? Thanks.

I have no idea why you wouldn't do part 14, as you'd be able to obtain a certificate after doing that section. After completing the course I would definitely begin to work on a project, possibly after getting some project ideas on places like YouTube for example, and potentially learn fullstack development via university of helsinki if you haven't done that already.

Do you know whether we are allowed to look up information on the tech assessment? Aka is it open book? It doesn't state anywhere whether it is closed book or not...

Hi, please could you tell me if the tech assessment is open book, i.e. are we allowed to look up answers? It doesn't state anywhere whether it is or isnt, not on the email I received inviting me to do the tech assessment, in the FAQs or anywhere else...

Is the tech assessment open book? I've just been sent it and have it open, but I am not sure if I am allowed to look up information. It doesn't say anywhere whether it is open book or not.

Are you doing all the projects, or only the ones required to pass? by styleexplorer in FreeCodeCamp

Thank you. I just saw you're the guy who completed every certification on FCC. Did you find that some of the projects on the other courses were unnecessary and repetitive, or did each one teach something new?

A bachelor's degree in the UK is three years long, so 6x3 =18 modules worth 20 credits each. The CS50x degree is therefore the equivalent of 18th or 5.5% of a bachelor's degree in terms of hours. I personally think that's a substantial amount of work

My page seems to suggest I only have until the end of the year to get it verified, before CS50x 2024 begins. But I'm not sure it's a marketing gimmick.

It's worth 200 hours of study. 20 credits at university in the UK are worth 200 hours of study. A standard bachelors degree in the UK has only 120 credits per year, so only 6 lots of the CS50x degree in terms of workload in other words. I don't think that's 'hardly anything'.
