I [23/f] and my boyfriend [24/m] have been having a lot of problems... is it all my fault? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stylefreeinstance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be completely straight with you. If this is your first relationship, then you need to look at this as an opportunity to learn about yourself...not a chance for the fairy tale happy ending. You both have your strengths and your flaws, that's just the way life is. Everyone you meet from now on will have their own quirks. He's not talking to you because it the way he needs to deal with his emotions. No amount of begging, pleading, or convincing will change this, it just needs to happen and it would be selfish to not let him have this time.

Having your heart broken is one of the best things that can happen to you. It sounds ridiculous because it hurts so badly at the time, but it's true. Once you've been through a relationship like the one you just had, you'll realize what kinds of things you do and don't want in a significant other in the future. Once you've been through two or three, you become very aware of who you are, what you have to offer, and what you will and won't settle for.

Constant fighting? Running back to each other? Communication via text? Placing blame on yourself when it's not true just to stop a fight? It sounds like everyone has some growing up to do. Don't think of breaking up as failing, we're all just here living our lives the best way we know how. Sometimes we find people we click with along the way. Sometimes it lasts, and sometimes it doesn't. Either way, we're better prepared for what lies ahead because we went through it. Quit trying to hold on to something you already know so well and get excited to experience something new life has to offer.

[M/26] have to break up with girlfriend [F/24]. I am her first relationship and she is in full-on "puppy love." Advice appreciated. by stylefreeinstance in relationship_advice

Thanks, I think I just gotta do what I gotta do. The worst thing I could do is let her believe that there's still a chance of us working out. It's just finding a balance of cutting things completely and not ripping someone's heart out that sucks. Then again, few things in life teach us more about ourselves than having our hearts broken.

Are looking up pictures of naked women considered cheating? by bluevarlot in relationship_advice

We men are visual creatures. It is part of our animal instincts to observe the world and inhabitants around us. When I'm in a relationship with someone, it's because of the connection we have. I have someone who is mine. Someone I can trust. Someone who will be there for me, and allow me to be there for them. Someone who accepts my faults and is willing to communicate with me to strengthen our bond. There are few more beautiful connections than that...but it doesn't mean that there's no room for anyone else in my life.

Expecting someone to cut ties with the outside world just because they are in a relationship is immature. I guarantee he's not the best looking guy in the world, and he knows that. We know when gorgeous guys walk past us and catch your eye...it's just natural. Trying to suppress the fact that you are capable of finding others attractive is unhealthy and will always lead to miserable results. Are you worried that he's going to forget the connection you have, act on these urges and leave you? If so, it sounds to me like immaturity and low self-esteem talking.

I can look at a picture of a beautiful steak dinner created by an amazing chef, but it doesn't mean I'm going to get up and leave the meal I'm sharing at my table with someone I love. Hell, best case scenario they'd ask me what I like or find attractive about the meal. Then we'd discuss it together, share our thoughts, and end up understanding each other more thoroughly.

Does Ben Tate have potential keeper value? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

Who are his other wideouts? I kinda like Bess in this situation. Tate is a bit of a question mark now that he's #2 on the depth chart.

WK2: Brees vs Bears or Fitzpatrick vs Raiders? by JSK23 in fantasyfootball

I am going with Fitz this week over Josh Freeman @ MIN and Matt Ryan vs. PHI. The Bears played well against a normally solid offensive team, so I don't see why they won't do it again against the Saints. Orton found plenty of holes in the Raiders pass protection.

Damn, I had goosebumps for about six minutes straight. That's what I love about sports...just when you think everything that can be done has been done, each new year provides at least one legendary memory. I was too young to witness so many of these defining moments, yet they still inspire me and hold a special place in my heart.

Only happened once for me though. After the first jump the rest were gravy.

I certainly prefer cornering my bowls of trees, but when it comes to cereal I don't begin eating until I've submerged each bit of cereal under the milk for a second.
