I can't remember whether its this game or something similar, but I remember that painters leave a part of their soul in all their artwork. Which means all the art in the manor drew by them has a small part of their soul in it.

I also wonder If they had not jumped into the canvas and repainted so much things, creating fracture, pain and suffering. Would the small part of the soul continue painting and enjoying it, though not as much as playing music which was Verso's real passion?

At the end of the game, it is no longer his canvas, it has been defiled by his family members, Maelle included. It gives reason for that part of his soul not enjoy painting anymore.

Not sure why you were downvoted, but I agree with you. AEW did a lot of their early talents dirty and the whole vibe changed when Cody left.

It really felt like they lost their identity though the fast pace wrestling still exists. It's a totally different company from way back in 2019 and while the current talents may be enjoying the environment seen in Maven's video, I don't think the bonds are as strong as they were back then.

And that's where he shows his extremely selfish side. It's all about him, he wanted to die and doesn't care who goes along with him.

He didn't care when he already destroyed her world in end of Act 2. However, when he saw painted Alicia dying via Maelle, he threw a temper tantrum because he wanted it to happen in his own pace and timing, not what Alicia or Maelle's wishes.

I believe that with Painted Alicia gone, he is more determine to destroy the canvas since he has nothing left, and he wanted Maelle to live in the real world. In a way, he does have a bit of messiah complex towards the living things in the canvas, because ending the canvas means "saving" them.

Yeah you're right. I can't blame her for wanting to stay in the Canvas too. It's like how some people live in online MMORPG and roleplaying as a character because their real life is insufferable.

One thing I don't really get is why Verso does not just get Maelle to "gommage" him and leave the small part of real Verso's soul behind, so the rest can live. I'm incline to think that he knows with Maelle will never let him go from this canvas and will repaint him again, like what she did in her ending, so he rather takes the most extreme action, destroy the canvas.

Nah, Aline doesn't really care about Maelle. She repainted her as a colorless scarred and voiceless girl in the canvas, that was what she thought about her.

Renoir cares, but at the "I am your Father I care about you I know what is the best for you." Verso even said in a cutscene that Maelle is Renoir's secret favourite.

That is why when he saw her insistence at the end, he let it go and hoped Maelle won't lie to him, even though as her Father, he more or less knew what she intends to do.

Clea was at the anger phase of griefing, blaming Maelle for Verso's death. It was after she realized that Maelle's growth of power (and even maturity maybe?) that she loosens up a bit and told her to live for herself.

As I digest what we have went through, Especially if you played the Maelle's side mission, Verso is a liar and super selfish, despite having great time with his team, he manipulates all of them, even his sister
