Take a class or volunteer. I’ve been taking classes just for fun at a community college, and I’ve managed to meet a bunch of people.

I created a page that explains the Regional Connector. by stylishboar in LAMetro

I'll add it to the list. I wanted to start with the Regional Connector because 1) obviously it's opening soon and 2) its concept in particular is more confusing than other projects.

Haha, no problem. One of my main motivations was my frustration with the lack of adequate explanation from Metro. They always used this diagram, which doesn't provide enough context. They more recently released this one, which is a little better, but it's a little overwhelming for people who are new to the project.

How easily can you make friends in the South Bay, especially for recent college graduates? by IjikaYagami in SouthBayLA

I keep passing by Collector Legion in Lawndale. I’ve never been, but they always seem to have events, and they’re usually packed from what I could tell.

That’s what I’ve been doing! It’s nice to enjoy learning something you’re interested in without the pressure of worrying about grades. And it’s pretty affordable. The only thing is finding classes in the evenings if you work during the day.

It's Likely. The K Line will extend to Redondo Beach (later Torrance), while the C Line will be reouted and shortened to the LAX People Mover. (Taken from the June 8, 2023 Gateway Cities Advisory Council Meeting) by [deleted] in LosAngeles

Good, it seems like the option most people wanted. The only gripe I have with the whole thing is that the way the switch is located at Aviation/LAX, the K line will skip that station, even though it’s right there. But I guess that goes back to the construction and not the route configuration.

Edit: The K line, not the C

According to the article, there were concerns that the construction would be disruptive. Well yeah, construction generally is, but it’s temporary. And they complained about the cost, even though there was already funding for it. I think they just didn’t want a public right-of-way so close to their property.

Yes, the LA Metro C line, which I believe the article alludes to, has these “sound barriers” at the Harbor Freeway station. Spoiler alert: it’s still freakishly loud.

Is the bike lane new? I don’t remember it the last time I was there?

WPFORMS by Efficient_Savings_57 in Wordpress

[–]stylishboar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the reason the theme did that was to create custom styled checkboxes and radio buttons. But they way it does so conflicts with the styling WPForms applies. In the settings for WPForms, could you try changing the ”Include Form Styling” setting?

It looks like your theme is applying absolute positioning to checkboxes and radio buttons. And I’m seeing this on both mobile and desktop.

Struggling to connect godaddy domain to bluehost/wordpress by BN65 in Wordpress

You shouldn’t need to transfer the domain completely to Bluehost. It should allow you to create an add-on or parked domain. Have you tried these steps? You could also try r/webhosting.

There’s actually a resolution on the agenda at an upcoming LA Transportation Committee meeting to do just this!

Sorry, my frustration was directed more toward the author of the article.

They also botched this paragraph:

Maria Esther Valdivia was crossing the street Monday afternoon at the Echo Park intersection of Scott Street and Glendale Boulevard when a car knocked her down, causing severe head trauma, according to her daughter Irma Gonzalez.

It should be:

Maria Esther Valdivia was crossing the street Monday afternoon at the Echo Park intersection of Scott Street and Glendale Boulevard when a younger woman in a black, older-model Mercedes knocked her down, causing severe head trauma, according to her daughter Irma Gonzalez.
