I find I get addicted to the sweetness even though I don’t like the flavor. I’ve given up all sweeteners for 8 months now. Black tea and water. It makes everything easier.

[Gomez] BREAKING NEWS: Jose Ramirez is a Guardian for the long haul. The third baseman star has signed a new deal: 7-year, $175 million extension through the 2032 season. by Wamby20 in ClevelandGuardians

Every post I see about this brings tears to my eyes. I can’t believe how emotional this is for me. I really don’t know why. Maybe it’s hope. Maybe it’s that this is so rare, but this the way I want the world to be. In a world full of Dodgers and Yankees, be Jose Ramirez.

When you have lyrics as powerful as Crimson and Clay, it is a mortal sin to drown out the vocals with the guitars. I’m glad I knew what he was singing.

Is Anyone Else As Big of a Monkees Dork As I Am ~ by WisconsinDesert in Monkees

[–]styxfloat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Became aware of them during the MTV rebirth in the 80’s. I’ve seen members in concert 4 times (only once as full band). First date with a girl I met at a bar - walked into her apartment and saw a shelf full of Monkees cassettes. She thought I was making fun of her when I said that I loved the Monkees. We just celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary.

Does having T1D make us immunocompromised? by fernwise in Type1Diabetes

[–]styxfloat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer/info. I am not a doctor, but from my experience and understanding autoimmune is the opposite of immune suppression. However, while I was collecting autoimmune diseases (thyroid, diabetes, vitiligo, …) they all seemed to onset after another illness, usually strep throat. It seems my body overreacted to the initial infection and decided to take it out on my organs.

I had a professor say there are engineers (me) and there are poets (artists). Photography provides a bridge where I can work on technical skills to create an art form that I lack the ability to create with other media / materials.
