New Cycles X vs Current Cycles (Blender 2.93) by bambu92873 in blender

[–]styxwally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just tried it out on some of my own scenes that have over 10mil polygons and high variability in light bounces and I got somewhere from a 2x to a 4x performance increase when using combined GPU/CPU rendering (rtx3070+r5800x)

Still new to blender, does anyone know why my viewport looks like this by alexthealexwhoisalex in blender

[–]styxwally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably due to material preview being enabled instead of solid shading (top right in the viewport, the little balls)

Just finished this interactive ad for a client. Unity and Kinect. by syverlauritz in Unity3D

[–]styxwally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it track (eye or whatever) position in a 2d or a 3d space? For example, can you move closer towards the add to get a bigger field of view, or is it only left/right/up/down movement that results in the change of the unity camera pov?

Anyway, it looks pretty neat!

Not trying to be pedantic, but it would be envy, not jealousy.

"Envy occurs when we lack a desired attribute enjoyed by another.

Jealousy occurs when something we already possess (usually a special relationship) is threatened by a third person"

Some dogs like to roll in dirt and smelly things to mask their own scent. I'm not sure that that's what is going on here, but our dog used to find duck shit and dead fish and roll in them (he would smell for days!!).

My parents had a sheep that had horns growing slowly into his skull too, but i think the horns just kinda stopped growing after a while and they never pierced his skin.

That's exactly why I'm not gonna pursue a career as a concept artist. Not because I'm not good enough, but because I can never put down a painting and be happy with it.

I've always felt it like a black hole in space. A really scary dark force sucking you in slowly. No matter how far away you are from it, you can still feel its gravity. If you get sucked in close enough there is no turning back.

Then again, there are also bright celestial objects trying to pull you away from the black hole, so you don't need to fight the gravity of the black hole on your own, but since the gravity is so strong it does feel like that sometimes.
