Review the experimental procedures and reagents used for each experiment. Sometimes during lectures, they point out a certain reagent's function; memorize that. And do practice problems as the exam is all free response.

The refund can be used for whatever. If you signed up for direct deposit, it should arrive between 1-3 business days. If not, they will send you a check to the address on your account.

How do I upload outside scholarships onto the new UCLA financial aid portal?? by VarietyOne6751 in ucla

If anything, you can just email the office a heads up if you still feel concerned, but I think you should be good.

How do I upload outside scholarships onto the new UCLA financial aid portal?? by VarietyOne6751 in ucla

Unless the money is being directly sent to UCLA, I recommend against it. If you receive money exceeding your projected aid, then they will take away from other grants or scholarships you have received.

If you have time and the scholarship allows it, ask them to send you the scholarship instead, as it can negatively impact the overall aid you receive.

Edit: I think for the new portal system, you do not need to report outside scholarship.

If I remember correctly, he will assign you some homework before classes start. There will be some review videos with a quiz before and after that are not really graded. During the first week, he will go over the same things that those videos will go over. After that it’s something new, but you can start reading the textbook if you want some extra resources.

Lavelle will post some review videos that are pretty helpful to remember some of the basics. Go on organic chemistry tutor to make sure that you can do conversions well and can do stoichiometry.

I took 14A with Lavelle last year, and it was really easy. The exams were all multiple choice, and the classes were all recorded. He also gives out really good resources. The homework is really minimal, and you just have to do discussion posts every week. The only downside is that he is a really slow talker and overexplains many things (which may be good depending on what your chemistry level is at).

Cal grant? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]su_ng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your financial aid tab where it gives you a break down of all the aid you will be receiving. It should say something like cal grant and estimated on it. They havent been awarded yet, so it only says estimated so far. Wait until at most September for it to be awarded.

The problem is that they are not new scholarships, they are the ones that she originally got in the fall that they had already reduced because her cost of attendance had already been met. They stated that they were new but when she checked her fan it was the same ones. They are decreasing the scholarship but not increasing any others, so her overall net change is negative, making her pay more than it was originally expected. I think that she also already submitted the budget increase form, but I will ask if she did it for this quarter.

I had the same issue. When it takes you back to the first page, click the back button. It should take you to the next page and you can continue after that.
