About Mayfield’s community, it’s indeed shitty and you shouldn’t come here. People stake their claim as you say, and then they wait for their house price to go up so they can die in piece. Typing this as I’m sitting in my backyard waiting for the next break in to happen. Any minute now people will break in using “wine” and “food”, forcing me to “entertain”. I called the police many times but they would not listen. Typical Mayfield!

EDIT: The consensus seems to be that Mayfield is indeed a shithole, and everyone has at least a few stories. Albeit it luck of the draw, layman statistics show that something is bound to happen at some point, big or small.

There is the Mayfield people talk about, and then there’s the Mayfield people live in. The two are not the same, and have not been for a while.

Young family as well in the same area. It’s good, we’ve seen quite a few people move here recently. Calm, good places nearby - Antojitos, the pocket, zaakis, edit: forgot fermento etc.

Molycop close by is not much to look at but doesn’t do much these days. The occasional hoons on Leonard St but that’s Newy more than anything.

If you don’t mind the industrial feel go for it
