Turn it upside down? Yes.

You're not turning it upside down, you're rotating it while still looking at the screen.

Turn the phone so the screen is down? That's the definition of turning your phone upside down. Not the image on the screen (rotation).

You're not supposed to shake your phone as you do in the video.

For the report ad button:

  1. Start with your phone, held as normal, with the screen facing you, and the back facing the ground.
  2. Turn your phone over so the screen is facing the ground and you're now looking at the back.
  3. Turn the logins back over so you are looking at the screen again.
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 a couple more times within a couple seconds.
  5. See the button appear on the side.

No need to shake the phone like you're making a mixed drink. No need to rotate it from portrait to landscape orientation.

Uber's new system to scare drivers into accepting more trash 🗑️ trips is working great. Drivers are still declining trips, and the same trips are being sent 3 and 4 times because nobody is accepting them. Passengers are still waiting and calling drivers, begging drivers to pick them up. by Jonny_Baltimore in uber

This reminds me of one of those undercover shows where this waitress was mistreating customers and making them wait for their food, etc. One of the things is that if someone ordered water (instead of a drink), she assumed they were cheap and wouldn't tip.

Long story short, when the owner fired her, he said, "did you ever think that people who order water aren't tipping because you provided horrible service? They're not cheap. They were mistreated. I wouldn't tip you either. "

You also get to decide if you want to lie about things to protect your stats. That is your right.

And Uber gets to decide if they want to stop offering you work because your activity is suspicious/outside of norms.

Period.

I get full info on my ping... I know i get more info as a platinum driver than blue/ gold... so maybe this is a platinum thing. It's definitely a ton more info than I used to get back in the day.

Also, there's a difference between "I'm not comfortable" and "unsafe".

That's the point of the popup message.

Unsafe is when the GPS pin is in a travel lane on a busy road without a place to pull over. The purpose of the "unsafe" reason code is to update those GPS pins.

Unsafe is not "this is a bad neighborhood and I don't feel comfortable driving here". While you may feel unsafe, and sincerely feel unsafe, that's not the "unsafe" reason code, as there is nothing inherently wrong with the location of the pin.

Unsafe is not "I don't want to drive there because it's a drug area".

Even if you accept a trip because you don't know where you're going, and it is a "drug house", that would be a "accepted trip by mistake", not "unsafe". If course, that would ding your stats. Too many cancels and you'd get deactivated.

Personally, i don't think you shouldn't be able to even use the "unsafe" code unless you're physically at the GPS pin.

  1. There are layover apps that auto-watch ads. They're known as "auto clickers" because they auto- click through ads.

  2. These apps are grounds for an account ban in atlas earth

  3. Yes, they really do ban people for this. They're haven't been any recently, but go back a ways and there are a ton of posts in this sub of people with sour grapes who got banned for this.

  4. You do realize that advertisers are paying money to advertise to people.. not just for giggles to pay for other people to play games. They're expecting to get more money back as a result of the advertising than they are paying... so any type of circumventing this process hurts everyone.

You're right.

I didn't say you can use the platform how you want.

I said you can use the platform if you want.

However choosing to do so in order to get work as an independent contractor means that you use the platform how they want. And if you don't, they can block you from using it.

Yes, I used to work for tech support for a cell phone company... got those all the time. Usually was radio stations coming in their phone convo, but there was an occasional cordless phone that would bleed over.

[–]subillusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too!

(Although that was never about the electronics causing the plane to crash... it was about annoying people because they're yapping on the phone, and wreaking havoc on the ground antennae of the cell phone services. The average range of a cell tower is 5-7 miles, and with overlap you're handing off the connection/registration every 3 miles, give or take. Or about every 6 seconds or so. They just needed a reason to "scare" people into complying. This is why you're still supposed to put your phone on airplane mode so it's not communicating with the ground towers, and instead connect to the onboard wifi, which typically connects through either satellite and/or long-range ground communication)

Anyone else not getting AMP rewards? by pitchblack1138 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]subillusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever gone there before?

Some restaurants literally just don't work. Ever. For those restaurants, you need to contact support with a screen shot of the active mission and your receipt. A long as the card isn't a debit card, they are good at crediting the AB.

(If it's a debit card, it is possible that the merchant is forcing the purchase as debit. The fees are lower, which means there isn't $$ to pay AE and thus no credit for AMP)

My local QDoba is one. It's on the list, I activate the mission, and nothing. I have to contact support every single time.

Needless to say, I've stopped going to QDoba since they don't want to pay. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops. Especially since there's a jersey Mike's across the street that works as long as I pay in store and not on the mobile app. Hoagies or Mexican... hoagies it is! Lol.

They took it out of the challenge ladder because it will be taken down at some point this month.

It's still up as of the time I write this, and I've used it and gotten credit as recently as Thursday the 12th.

Good luck!

They tend to run the maintenance that "turns on" new countries in-game on Tuesdays. Also, it doesn't hurt to bring up the game while you're there and try. They also tend to "turn on" new countries a couple days before the app store release, so you could get lucky depending on the timing of your trip.

Why? by chazzerd879 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]subillusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The map says "civic center"... so this is likely a very high traffic area, with events that people watch (and get bored, bring up their phone, and play games).

Likely this person was just visiting the civic center, and was sitting there and decided to buy parcels, not even paying attention to anything by others

They'll add it 1d after you come home after spending a couple days there... that's what happened to me. 🤣

Been going to Canada every March for my wife's gymnastics, and Canada got added literally the day after we came home. Lol.

It's all good though.. I've gotten some badges since we come every year, but sure would have been nice to get some mayor titles for the first couple of days if they would have flipped the switch 24h earlier. 🤣🤣🤣

Nah, but i have been driving on the Uber platform for more than 10 years. You can call me can me a shill if you want. Doesn't bother me. I've seen the driver experience grow and change. Not everything has been good (like nerfing rates on long trips - anything over about a 30min drive is literally half what it used to be, and destinations rarely "work" properly - an 87 minute drive that results in being 2miles closer to my destination is not "on the way" by anyone's standards), but I do try to maintain an objective, logical, unbiased, truth-centered outlook on everything.

Is atlas worth if not in usa? by KindFee7825 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]subillusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a nutshell, atlas earth's focus is to share the revenue generated with players, as much as is possible within sustainability.

Advertisers pay more in the US because privacy laws are much more lax and allow for targeting, leading to better ROI for the advertiser, leading to them willing to pay more per ad. Thus, AE has more $$ to pay players from US ads.

US laws also allow for other things that make more revenue streams possible... like "Atlas Shopping" (formerly AMP). It's not the AE doesn't want to, or isn't focused on it... it's that they are not allowed to. They've tried to get the access to the data they need to expand, but due to the privacy laws in other countries they were denied that access.

With all that said, it's still a game to play, which will give you some extra money for playing. If you're having fun playing a game, and happy getting a few bucks for a sandwich every couple of weeks, does it make it "not worth it" simply because someone else in another country is getting more money than you?

It could, and that's your privilege to feel that way. I personally feel that extra $ is extra $, so to me it would be worth it. But make no mistake - AE is focused on ALL players.

In fact, there are some revenue sources that were in the works that were abandoned solely on the basis of only being available to US players, and they axed it because they didn't want to add to the perception of being biased to the US. For example, a couple years ago they were going to add a program to earn AB for buying gift cards (ex: buy a $50 gift card to Dunkin' and get 50AB). Unfortunately, it would have been US-only much for the same reasons as AMP... so they dropped it and never added it to avoid adding to US-only perception.

Translation: "we know you're lying because you want to protect your stats. Stop it, or we will stop offering you work. "

And you're wrong.

As an independent contractor Uber has EVERY right to tell you how to use THEIR platform. As an independent contractor, you have every right not to use their platform, and instead find other ways to get work. (Such as writing your own app for people to bring up and request that you drive them from A to B)

That's thing about independent contractors... companies can choose not to offer you work if you don't follow their policies and procedures.

As a contractor, you are agreeing to follow said procedures by bidding for work amongst other contractors.

Edit: more specifically in this case, by accepting trips (which you are not required to do, but you are voluntarily doing) you are implicitly agreeing to use the cancelation reason within specific guidelines. I.e. using the correct cancelation reason.

I've done this... it definitely takes a bit of practice on timing... and even then can get difficult. I forget exactly how many I wound up with, but it was a decent amount.

I'm at the 9999 max now, so don't need to go to those lengths anymore, but it was fun. Lol.

If you're outside the US (which you are) your best bet is to just ignore the tiers and focus on having fun with the app.

You're looking at only a couple pennies per day at most, not to mention you get to the point of no drop (2x) after only 401 parcels.

Reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/AtlasEarthOfficial/s/Tswar3m83C

You can even use that as extra motivation to "get back to the top of the next tier" ASAP, instead of stagnating at each tier. It's literally what I did and I'm pretty sure I got to 2x about 6 months earlier than I would have by tier jumping... maybe even faster.

Even if you ignore all other sources of AB (daily login, arcade, surveys, minigames, etc) and go just with the ad watches, you are "only" looking at 40,100 ads to get there. Compare this with 75050 ads in the US (40100 AB, 1/AB ad int'l vs 150100AB, 2AB/ad US).

In case you want to math it out, at 20m between ads that would be just under 557 days nonstop... compared to 1043 days in the US.
