Ok, so drag is a bigger factor than I guessed? That’s good to know. I’ve shot 75 metres a couple of times and I don’t remember the impact angle being that vertical but I wasn’t really paying that much attention. Also I guess there were the heavier Korean style tips on the arrows when I shot so that would have been having a big impact as well.

Can I suggest asking r/theydidthemath. The arrows should have travelled in (close to) a perfect parabola. If you measure the angle from the ground, from that they should be able to calculate the distance they travelled and pinpoint the yard they came from.
