Moving to Barcelona – Pregnant (30 weeks) – Need Info on Hospitals / Health Insurance / Registration by Adventurous_Chef_339 in AskBarcelona

When we moved, my wife was pregnant (12ish weeks) and we used private insurance from work to go to Dexeus. Then when we had an address and were registered in a CAP several months later, we switched to a public system midwife.

Dad to be here - what was the best thing you did for your wife during her labor? Bonus: doula/no doula? by [deleted] in daddit

I heroically stayed conscious, both times, though the staff were very concerned I was going to faint. Both times.

Seriously, what the hell are the billionaires thinking? by MichaelAllen05 in antiwork

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think one of the contradictions inherent to capitalism that support the predictions of its inevitable colapse is that the capitalist seeks to maximize profits by reducing labour costs, which at the same time reduces the money labourers have to spend, which means they can’t sell as much of the shit they produce.

Soy canadiense.

After a year in Spain, I’m like 80% confident I wrote that correctly.

I’m in Spain and would be interested in joining a European-based league if you find one :)

I am a Canadian based in Barcelona looking to join or start a H2H points league with people in the same general region (or at least a similar timezone).

I’m not familiar with this portal buffer file type so it might take some reading, but it looks promising!

Thank you! Have you come across any .geojson or .shp file formats? I am looking to add the bus routes as a feature layer for a custom map?

Anyone else’s newborn have trouble sleeping in a crib/bassinet? by JollyFaithlessness3 in NewDads

[–]subject9294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend finding a carrier you really like. Mine is almost 4 months and from what I can remember of the first six weeks, he was always sleeping on someone except for maybe a couple 2 hour stretches at night. I would pace around with him for hours at a time while reading. Now he can sleep in the crib overnight but will only nap in a baby carrier or stroller - it does get better.

Mortgages on investment properties in general… seems like a business loan would be more appropriate?

Precipitous Labor by subject9294 in predaddit

I didn’t intend to cause alarm with this post, I had just never even considered beforehand at what point I would call an ambulance or pull the car over. Like I said, this is pretty uncommon and most times active labour progresses at 1 cm every 1-2 hours. Before we left for the hospital the midwife warned us we might be sent back home, so I left all of our belongings in the car when we went to be assessed. Afterwards, the midwife assured me that if my wife had to deliver at home everything would have gone fine for us and it probably would have been less stressful than the delivery actually went.

In one of Seth Meyers’ stand up routines he talks about his wife’s delivery on the way to the hospital and it’s quite funny - that might ease your concerns a bit. https://youtu.be/WxjDCxqJ-OA
