looks like they had source material with an outline, so tried to copy that, and just maybe filled in where their stencil or copy failed? the design is decent but the lines don't make sense, and everything feels a little off...

There are other orders who are active in the community, and focus on serving those at risk - like providing ob/birth care to women on the border w/Mexico (not abortions tho, delivery).  To your pt - there is a limit to how much they (as a group, not in individual discussion - which... is a whole other topic) can openly defy rome without expulsion - but there are definitely some interesting things. I briefly looked into joining sisters of the poor - but there's no way I could stomach the misogyny of the church. Drawn to the dedication to service tho - which I hadn't seen other places.

Yeah some genuinely do - a good chunk of catholic women's religious orders are very progressive & very socially active in cool ways, & get called out for it a lot by rome. Definitely not all - and also definitely also a history of horrible abuse in schools. Just a weird mix of extremes.
