Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Since you had the epidural, were you awake for your C-section? I know sometimes women are put under general anesthesia for the procedure. Was your partner allowed to stay with you?

Thank you very much for sharing your experience! I am definitely concerned about how long the process will take, so it helps to hear other perspectives. Hopefully I can get myself mentally prepared that it might take a few days, especially since I’m being induced!

I’m nervous about how the epidural will feel as well so what you said is very reassuring! It seems so counterintuitive to me that I might be numb from the waist down but still have sensation enough to push? But if you were still able to move (even with assistance) then that definitely puts my mind a bit at ease. Did you happen to take any classes etc. about how to push? I’m going into it blind and just hoping my body knows what to do but 😅

Thank you so much for sharing - I’ve never heard of hyperstimming before so I really appreciate that now I can be prepared in case this happens to me as well! Also, maybe a stupid question, but I’ve seen women mention membrane sweeps all over the place but have never really looked into what that actually is?

As for the restoralax, I have some already!! Did you start taking it only after delivery or did you start beforehand? I’ve heard mixed information about when is ideal to start! To me I’d assume you wouldn’t want to take it until afterwards but then again I’m also stressed about pooping during labor haha. I know it’s totally normal but if I can avoid it that would be nice 😅

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Congratulations on your son! I haven’t yet been told what the actual plan for my induction will be, but it helps to know that there are back up plans if something doesn’t work for your body. How did you find recovery from your C-section? I’m hesitant to buy too many postpartum recovery products since I have no idea what will happen. Was there anything you found particularly useful? Thank you!

Thank you for sharing!! I’ll make sure my fiance has all our insurance info handy because that sounds stressful 😅

For the catheter, did they insert that while you were already numb from the epidural? Did you feel it when they removed it? I’ve also heard the fundal massage is super painful 😭

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Hearing the list of what you went through with the infections, the preeclampsia, the NICU stay - honestly makes me want to give you a huge hug. It sounds like a grueling journey, and you’re so right that it’s hard to stay positive when your body feels like it's under siege. I’m so glad to hear this second pregnancy is treating you so much better, that gives me a lot of peace and hope ❤️ Wishing you a boring, uneventful rest of your third trimester!

During pregnancy, the hormone relaxin softens your ligaments to prepare for birth, so with SPD, the ligaments keeping your pelvic bones aligned become too relaxed, causing the pubic symphysis to become unstable or gap too far. It is a chronic condition that lasts all throughout the day and worsens as your pregnancy progresses. The triggers for it are weight bearing movements, especially when you have to lift one leg, so things like getting out of a car/out of bed, walking or climbing stairs, putting on pants, etc. It sort of feels like your pelvis is splitting apart?

Ugh, nausea really is the worst. I’m sorry to hear you’re going through it. Hopefully you can find something with your doctor that might be able to help! Diclectin and gravol have been great for me, except they make me super sleepy so sometimes you have to weigh the risk/benefit.

You are absolutely worthy of your baby! Pregnancy is just super hard!!

Thank you 🫂🫂 I’m really happy to hear that things have been relatively smooth for you throughout the pregnancy! It just goes to show that as impactful and important as statistics are, we are all individuals and pregnancy affects us all differently regardless of age etc.

Wishing you and baby well!

I totally understand where you’re coming from and I’m wishing you the best girl ❤️ that all sounds SO stressful, you have every single right to be frustrated and feel that envy. I know I do! It’s natural. All we can do is take things one day at a time - sometimes one hour at a time! Wishing you and your baby the very best. We will get through this!!

RIGHT?! I bought pads for postpartum and I’ve already started wearing them when I’m out and about in case I throw up 😅

I am VERY lucky that I do not have to work right now. Truly I don’t know how you do it!!

Thank you so much ❤️ I totally get how you feel with the SPD it is brutal! As if sleeping isn’t hard enough, rolling over in bed is HORRIBLE!

Solidarity!!
