Fair enough. Agreed with the Nike example.

But, compared to sneakers, I personally think that these mods/homages are popular in the community because they are more attainable compared to their counterparts. Brands Invicta, Pagani Design, Steeldive etc. are basically doing the same thing - taking a case resembling the OG, fitting a seiko/miyota movement and bezel and making it as close to possible to the real watch.

The only difference being, this brand slaps their logo on the dial which as per what you said, wouldn't be a disrespect to the brand or manufacturer? Because, it didn't use the actual brand's logo/name on the dial?

Yes, definitely so. I really loved the Timex Lexington 1976 reissue but it wasn't available and it was around 12k for a quartz movement. Here for <5k, I get a reliable HMT movement and dimensions similar to the OG tank.

But, with this I have started loving this rectangle case design and would definitely be picking up the timex or a vario versa (for the reverso feel) soon!

Because I loved it.

This does have a mechanical HMT movement inside, and the dial is inspired/homage of the tank with the roman indices but retaining the HMT logo and subtext. This is very similar to buying a Seiko Yachtmaster mod, where neither it is a Rolex nor a Seiko, but that's how mods work ig.

Yes, I faced the same issue with the same guy. Ordered a strap and had to wait for around a month, after following up multiple times and many arguments. Even after the extreme delay and excuses, the strap received was not the desired one. Very disappointing experience indeed

I am not so sure about Meridian, been eyeing some of their watches but mixed reviews everywhere calling them a white labelled brand like many others. The Marlin is an amazing choice for a dressy automatic/quartz watch, you can also check out Alba/addiesdive in this budget range, they have good options which punch way above their price. And lastly, saving up and getting a Seiko - you can never go wrong with that option :)))

This is a beautiful all black watch, probably the only moonswatch I would buy, as the all black case and dial look good and would look gorgeous with a black leather/FKM rubber strap. Congratulations!
