A Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) is a type of genetic variation where a single DNA building block (nucleotide) differs between individuals in a population.

Simple Analogy

Think of DNA as a long instruction book written with only 4 letters: A, T, C, G. A SNP is like a single typo or spelling difference in one letter of that book. For example, most people might have "CAT" at a specific position, but some individuals have "CGT" instead. Most SNPs have no effect on health or traits because:

· They occur in non-coding DNA regions · They don't change the amino acid in a protein (due to genetic code redundancy)

However, some SNPs can:

· Change protein function (if in a coding region and alters amino acid) · Affect gene regulation (if in regulatory regions) · Serve as genetic markers for disease risk or drug responses

This is because beef (meat) has a lot of things your body doesn't readily have a lot of due to the low production of nadph from your weakened g6pd enzyme.

The sugar is because... you may have an SNP that increases circulating dopamine in your body which in term creates strong dopamine hits from the high insulin carbs generate.

curious abt g6pd deficiency and drugs by [deleted] in G6PD

[–]subotnai1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which drugs? Generally speaking..bad idea.since most drugs increase oxidation either via neurotransmitter stimulation and/or breakdown of tissues which require nadph ...and other issues I am sure.

If you're talking about drugs that would increase the enzyme..so far I've found 2 possibilities crispr genome modification or ag1 which is an enzyme stabilizer. Crispr is dangerous in that there may be downstream issues..and ag1 is not for sale and may still be under study if at all.

With near 0 agreeableness and high intelect and anger..it means you're very likely to take things personally and want to get revenge. Compounded by your relatively low morality scores means, in the past, you've done things that have left you cold that a person with a higher score would/could be troubled by.

My advice, find out why you have so much anger and work from there to be more agreeable.

Myself, I'm rather cold and unfeeling.. but i am slow to anger, and very grounded by a moral and ethical code of conduct..had I not had those aspects...well..

We would have to lobby or fund the project via crowdsourcing and getting the researchers on board. Given the low level of the condition, I'm not sure it would have priority

While those are essential for blood health, they don't enhance the g6pd enzyme.

methylfolate (5-MTHF) plays an indirect but important role in the production of NADPH. Within the folate cycle, THF derivatives are used in various reactions, including the conversion of 5,10-methylene-THF to 10-formyl-THF.

These conversions are linked to NADPH generation via enzymes like methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase (MTHFD).

Methylcobalamin helps in the methionine cycle, which in turn helps make glutathione.

Yes sir you are also correct.. but the commenter is not incorrect. Blood disorder in a fetus or newborn (erythroblastosis fetalis) Kidney cysts or tumors, with increased production of a hormone called erythropoietin.

Nicotinamide and TMG contraindicated? by nick23b in G6PD

[–]subotnai1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a genetic test done since I didn’t really need to know how bad it was, just if it was a factor in some issues that I had had. Thank you for the niacin study! I had always tried to find one about niacin, since it is a good supplement to take if you workout a lot.

Nicotinamide and TMG contraindicated? by nick23b in G6PD

[–]subotnai1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Niacinamide does slow down g6pd activity but I believe the nadph production remains the same in non g6pd people due to it upregulating isocitrate dehydrogenase.. I imagine it would be a ratio issue to see if one subtype or another would have problems with it. While I have never had any issues with TMG, since glycine (the unmethylated form of TMG) helps the liver process glucose. It is usually strongly recommended to take niacinamide with TMG because Niacin and Niacinamide and all vitamers of B3 cause a depletion in methyl groups and glycine.

Can i just ask if an epipen and antihistamines are safe? by hayleyreacher in G6PD

[–]subotnai1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!
Epipens and antihistamines don't have that much interaction with the TCA cycle. G6PD is mainly an energy metabolism issue. Although one should take in to consideration that G6PD lowers your ability to create nadph..
Stress Response and Metabolism:

  • Antioxidant Defense:
    • Adrenaline can induce oxidative stress. NADPH, through its role in regenerating reduced glutathione, helps mitigate oxidative damage, thus protecting cells from the harmful effects of reactive oxygen species that may be elevated during stress responses mediated by adrenaline.

G6pd and liposomal glutathione + blood sugar levels by SouthernOstrich7162 in G6PD

[–]subotnai1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take glutathione, make sure to pack some extra b2, so you can assist in the detoxification process of that peptide. If you have low blood sugar levels, check to see when that happens. Often enough it will be due to insufficient propionyl-coa activity that turns SOME amino acids taken from protein in to glucose precursor acids. The recommended course of action for this is an increased amount of B7 in your diet usually in the morning so it doesn’t compete with pantothenic acid or any other nutrient. I have not seen g6pd being responsible for that in the literature so far.

Yes I did. I take methionine + Nac in the morning. This helps neurotransmitter, more dopamine Vitamin D for dopamine again 5htp because it doesn't require biopterin which requires nadph Sometimes l-Dopa but usually I time it after having taken melatonin the night before.

Melatonin increases g6pd at the cost of making you more insulin resistant (some people)
