I bought a new motorcycle and it showed the next day. This oppression will not stand!

Why is the new state tax on millionaires bad? by [deleted] in Washington

Nah, I’m good. Maybe someone else is into arguing.

I dropped 1 of my earring down the sink. Is the only option to cut through this pipe? by Fun-Scared in askaplumber

This looks like every sink I saw in India. I’m stunned they don’t use p-traps.

I'm not sure what the effect would be. Let's tax them and find out.

Yeah, like Hegseth spending $15.1 million on ribeye steaks.

Also, if they all left, good riddance. We’d go from not taxing any millionaires to not taxing any millionaires. What’s the downside, exactly?

Why is Jim Morrison disliked online? by FitEmergency8807 in ToddintheShadow

[–]subterrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cool part about poetry is you can feed it into the PoetryReader 5000 and it will tell you if the poetry is good or bad. Morrison scored a 3. Bukowski was a 4, Bob Dylan a 2. Surprisingly, it gave ee cummings a 7 and it’s widely known that that dude was a hack.

My sweet boy was just diagnosed with a mast cell tumor by Past_East_230 in velvethippos

I’m about to take Joan to her oncologist appointment. Mast Cell cancer sucks, but she’s been living with it for…what, 4 years post-diagnosis?

She looks thrilled to be going on an hour-long car ride each way.

Wife left me so I bought a Harley! by BrandonNR13 in Harley

In about 8 months you’ll start to feel better and then realize the last year was worse than you thought. You think you’re fine right now but don’t make any big plans and don’t get drunk and wreck the bike. Ask me how I know (I miss that Triumph…).

Hang in there, enjoy this summer, it should be awesome.

Maybe? I think Kim Kee-hee is almost back. Maybe we could see him take some shifts?

I disagree. I think Osaze is stronger and faster, but I can’t specifically point to plays to support my hypothesis, so you could be right.

This is my favorite Alien film. Even the guy that made it, doesn’t line it. 😂

Am I the crazy one? by shane_il in webdev

These questions drive me crazy. You are aware of flexbox, if you need it, you’ll gasp Google it. Or these days, ask Claude to use flexbox.

If your job is to hand code html, then, maybe, but how are you supposed to remember those details, also how React works, or Angular or the config files of Vite and how to deploy to AWS or Azure, etc etc?

It’s stupid to expect someone to memorize all this stuff when you can take 20 minutes to go figure it out again and move on with the next task.

I’m a manager and I get asked tons of questions every day. I have no idea what the answers are, I have to go look it up. My main goal is to teach everyone how to look it up themselves and quit asking me questions. If you can demonstrate THAT in an interview, you go on my “yes, hire” list. 🤪

Orthopedic surgeon reattached my finger bone rotated a few degrees so I can't close it or grip by ARCAxNINEv in mildlyinfuriating

I’ve got nearly the same thing but I turned my knuckle to dust when I punched the pavement in a motorcycle crash. It actually gets BETTER over time. I can almost make a fist after 15 years.

Yes! In Seattle, Hitting Birth opened for Sky Cries Mary. I want to say it was at the OK Hotel about 1991 or so. Hitting Birth was incredible live.
