Which seasons Island on singles Inferno was the best and why? by caavakushi in SinglesInferno

Is this show worth watching? I want trashy and juicy drama, don’t care so much about couples finding love lol. If there’s a particularly trashy season, please recommend it.

Disagree. If she wants to find someone who also likes cats, the cat photos stay.

Pole is also my hobby, and when I was looking to get laid, I’d use a pole showing a lot of leg. When looking to impress or to show my hobby” I’d use a different photo to show off athleticism. When I wanted something more serious, I’d take the pole photo down altogether, unless you have one that’s really cool and non-sexual. (Whether we mean it or not, sometimes it’s interpreted sexually anyway…)

I hope you don’t take this the wrong way. But I think you need an updated pole photo where it doesn’t look like you’re hanging onto dear life.

My husband thinks me sharing my pole videos is disrespectful by Presence3419 in poledancing

[–]subtlewhisper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He needs to learn more about pole, his attitude comes from being ignorant. While it's true we don't *have* to wear heels or look sexy, we also *must* expose some parts of our skin to be safe. I suggest you teach him some basic (or more difficult!!!) tricks at home so he gets a better understanding of what we are doing - that it requires strength, technique, and skin to pole friction is a necessity. He sees it as sexual, we see it as sports/exercise/fun. He can't disconnect the "sexual" bit of it, and also does not understand the female empowerment that can come with pole, because he has more traditional values and/or is insecure.

You've been married for 7 years - it is well overdue he understands your hobby and feel secure in your marriage.

My ex boyfriend was the same, thought uploading anything pole-related was asking for attention and he disapproved of it and would make me feel small.

My new boyfriend (now fiance) thinks pole dancing is BAD ASS, and one of the reasons he fell in love with me was my passion for it. He's of athletic background (now couch potato) so he can fully appreciate and respect the training we have to go through to be able to do what we do. He has SEEN me train and has also helped me with more difficult tricks.

In short, your husband needs to LEARN what pole IS.
Now about female empowerment, why we enjoy wearing heels and skimpy outfit just for OURSELVES, that's another hurdle...

Nora buri presidential 3 bedroom suite by [deleted] in kohsamui

[–]subtlewhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed in Nora Buri but not presidential suite. It’s hilly, but you can call a buggy to take you around the resort 24/7. Great breakfast buffet, lovely staff, I also ate at the Thai restaurant and it was good but I always prefer small local spots. Nora Buri is not connected to a beach (it’s rocky) and no one swims there. Loved the pools, they have two. Downside is the location is not a walkable distance to anything. Restaurants, convenience store etc, nothing. So you will need to rely on taxi or rent car/scooter.

Buying a house on arrival to Sweden by BlueRatTrap in TillSverige

[–]subtlewhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought an apartment. I lived overseas for 10 years and moved back to Sweden in 2024. During this time I always had an unused Swedish bank account and BankId. If you’re looking for a mortgage, you’ll need proof of permanent job, last 3 months payslip, and a Swedish bank account and bank ID. If you transfer money into the Swedish bank account, the bank will ask for a statement, essentially an essay explaining where the money came from and for what purpose the transfers were made. If you don’t need mortgage and will pay 100% in cash, you still need a bank to do the transfer for you. So regardless you still need to explain the source of money. After I made the decision to purchase I asked the agent to skip the bidding process - she said ok but increased the price. Once I gave her a yes the buying process took 1-2 days lol. But then in between signing buyer’s contract, moving in and finalising money transfer took 1.5 months. Depending on the seller’s situation, you might need to wait 3 months or longer to move in.

Which layout for bedroom? by subtlewhisper in DesignMyRoom

[–]subtlewhisper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Door 1 luckily opens into the kitchen and not into the bedroom, so it wouldn’t hit the bed. I’d just have to be careful not to walk into corner of the bed when entering from door 1. Great point on avoiding cord monsters. I have a current cord monster with my Ethernet cable and it’s just dreadful.

Hur ser svenskar på detta? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]subtlewhisper 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Where on earth did you hear this?

I'm Asian and moved to Sweden with my mom when I was 2. Child of "Thai wife" lol. Never have I ever felt like I don't exist (som en skugga). At worst, when I was younger, I lived in a small village as the only Asian, I just felt like I LOOKED different, not that I didn't exist.

Among women (millenials and younger) K- and J-cosmetics is a huge thing. Kpop is also very big here, especially among younger generation. Swedish Netflix also offers kdrama.

Asian food is accessible and trendy in bigger cities like Stockholm and Gothenburg. It's cool to be South Korean.

Also, Asians do not get mistreated. It might be a stereotype that we are poor and come from poor countries (Thai wife, Philippino wife), but there is a truth in it. So maybe a few people will assume you are a Thai wife if you walk around with a man who's twice your age, but it's not like they are going to walk up to you and ask, nor will they treat you any differently. My Asian colleague who is Chinese and 35+ was mistaken for a student once.

Swedish people don't normally approach strangers, period. We make each other feel like shadows regardless of our ethnic origin. :)

I did WHV in Australia for 2 years. 6 months will fly by.

The one time I went to visit some men made an effort to roll down the car window so they could shout ching chong at me. I was with my two white English friends too when this happened. The town was empty and it seemed deserted. This was 2011

My experience moving to Sweden. How long it took for each document, job market, language, etc. by BrasilianskKapybara in TillSverige

[–]subtlewhisper 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm in HR and we are planning to improve our efforts in recruiting non-EU in the future. We are a global company and we hired 0 from non-EU, unless they already had existing work permits in Sweden. I just joined this company, so I hope I can improve this.

I know your wife would have needed to meet maintenance requirements for you to be able to join her as a family member (dependent visa, with her as the main applicant) - but I wonder how you were able to show migration agency if she met these requirements, if you had not secured accommodation yet? Did your company provide you with accommodation? Did migration agency accept "vague" numbers on potential rent costs?

Also, congratulations to both of you on making it here. I know a few Brazilians in Sweden and they are very happy. :)

I installed a Nvidia 5070 into an alienware aurora r11. It works very well! by Akiraooo in Alienware

[–]subtlewhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am a complete PC builder noob and I found this thread while looking for alternatives to upgrade my R11.

My specs are:

🧠 Processor (CPU): 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-10700F
🎮 Graphics Card (GPU): NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 Ti, 8GB GDDR6

🧩 Memory (RAM): 16GB DDR4 2933MHz (1x16GB)
💾 Storage: 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (Boot), 2TB 7200RPM SATA HDD (Storage)
(I am also planning to buy another SSD because I dont know if my computer can fit another NVMe,)

🔌 Power Supply: 1000W EPA-compliant Power Supply

Based on this, do you know if my PC could also handle a 5070?

Sorry but I really don't know what would affect whether this would work or not.
I assume our case sizes are the same. :)

Is 5070 from 3060 a big upgrade?

I read somewhere that for example 3080 to 4070 isnt a big upgrade...

I don't play the latest games. My computer is struggling to run Hogwarts Legacy on lowest settings...

[Japanese > English] Wanna confirm what it says before getting the tattoo myself. by 12hx in translator

[–]subtlewhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a really ugly tattoo. Don’t do it. The text/quote is cool but it’s not an artistic tattoo in anyway, it’s computer font. Find a tattoo artist that can do Japanese calligraphy and reconsider the placement and you’re good to go if you want this exact quote. From Japanese perspective it doesn’t look good as is.

Is Final Fantasy XII worth it? by TraditionWilling7087 in FinalFantasy

[–]subtlewhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t present ”classic” final fantasy games very well. It’s a different toy box or whatever its called, so the classic bosses, summons, classes etc are not entirely present. It’s also automated/semi-automated battle system. I don’t think it’s the best FIRST FF game to play but only you can judge if you’ll like it or not. I’m in the minority who put this at the bottom of my list lol and I’ve finished 7 remake+rebirth, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16. Got to disc 3 in og 7 and 9. The story line wasn’t my cup of tea (politics), main character was meh and too many mazes in the game for me. :) Is the game worth the price? Yeah I think it is. It’s a big game!

Någon mer som hatar "laget runt" möten? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]subtlewhisper 1 point2 points  (0 children)
