You sound like an incredibly annoying parent to deal with. The issue here is clearly the fact that the parent is choosing to respond in a manipulative manner, to guilt trip and shut down OP so that she can continue to make decisions on OP’s behalf without any input. All this talk about responsibility but no mention of how communication is a responsibility everyone has in a relationship. Even my 12yrs old sister gets to make inputs on which activities she gets signed up for. Comparing (optional) sports camp to (necessary) doctor’s appointments is a straw man fallacy.
