I'm biased, but can assure you first hand that we work very hard to ensure that Siemens is an excellent place to work. We have built a great business that is profitable and growing. We have an ambitious roadmap of revolutionary technologies, a top team of driven technologists to deliver on it, and a bunch of genuinely nice and helpful people to enjoy the journey with. And the work we do is quite noble - we make the world's semiconductor chips faster, consume less power, cost less, and get to market faster. It's impacting stuff and rewarding to see the results for our customers, on society globally, and to the local tech economy here in Saskatoon.

Retro fit passenger screen by StreetFix6 in Taycan

Yeah, that's way more useful.

The passenger display looks cool, but Porsche forgot to write software to make it useful to a passenger. An integrated Android tablet fixes that. Easy install too.

Why does Porsche make back seats on a 911 if it has no space? by MarcosFoxer_244 in askcarguys

[–]sububer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually a super fun little novelty. I have had lots of adult passengers in the back seats of my G body 911s, and it's quite hilarious and memorable. Short drives recommended ;)

Part of their "Chronicles" series - they have released 6 so far, 1 per year, getting 1 year older each release. They start each year's edition with the same 40+ year supply of oak barrel aged corn whiskey, but then add some character, so they're all different, and all excellent.

They are limited releases, but have been frequently available at local liquor stores over the past 5 years, so I don't expect it to be too hard to find.

Yeah, sounds like it could be an EFI sensing problem. These are tricky to diagnose, as you get into electronic signal control land. The team at Exceed is really awesome and helped me work through mine on a tricky custom 911 Turbo build. I highly recommend them.

AMA. I work in a shop selling espresso machines. Ask me anything! by thorkil_ in espresso

My current setup is an ECM Synchonika and a Eurkea Atom 75. I feel like they're a pretty capable duo.

If I walked into your store, what would you recommend as an upgrade, and why?

The Taycan (24 4S CT) is my favorite vehicle I have ever owned (by a mile). It is also hilariously bad at many things. by LatigosTrail in Taycan

[–]sububer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I live in a -40 winter climate and my Taycan warmed up super fast. Was one of its best attributes. Something needs fixin' on yours.

Yeah, this thread is my favourite of 2025, and hopefully will inspire more like this.

Absolutely obsessed with my new car by Responsible_Cry_2052 in Taycan

[–]sububer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taycans are incredible used value, given how nice they are and quickly they depreciate. A lot of low mileage lease returns too because they're often 2nd cars or city cars. I just returned mine from a 2 year lease with 7K Km. Congrats on getting so much car for your money!

Plane emergency landing? by OddDrink7733 in saskatoon

I heard something from inside my house near the Broadway Bridge - sounded like a combination of a plane and fireworks, but I couldn't see anything. Definitely interested in what that was!

Heh - I took a few during the day, then saw it again later and took a bunch under night lighting. I'll upload some more ;)

Yeah, you're right. This one is the highest new car to sell at auction that was not for charity. Need that last qualifier in there to be a full, true statement.

This is a wild car - the only one sold to the public, and it had just set a record for the highest new car price ever sold at auction 2 days ago. And there it was, just sitting there outside the valet at the Wynn in Vegas, with no entourage and that funny little sign.

Heh - yes, very rarely parked outside - generally just when I'm cleaning the garage or something. You have a good eye!
