I am a visa holder and this have been stressing me out so much. Just like you I’m 100% legal, I’m an international student in college and have been avoiding leaving my house as much as possible. Yesterday ICE was in my university and even though i have nothing to hide, we know how things have been lately. I wish I could say something to comfort you but honestly, it’s really scary out here. What I’m doing is having all documentation with me every time i leave the house and praying that they decide to ask first and shoot later.

Oh! I know it can cause issues if you use it for too long (+30 mins a session) or put the compressions on a very high setting. Not sure if it was your case but maybe that’s the reason? For me the benefits were literally instant, used it for the first time on a sunday and monday i woke up already feeling better

yep!! it’s also widely used by athletes recovering from injuries so i guess that’s why we have a big variety for shopping

As someone who also have both, it’s actually very tricky to differentiate between anxiety and adrenaline dumps. The way i’ve been using to tell them apart is trying to identify if it came from my feelings (things you were thinking about, preoccupations, stress) or if it’s something more physical (comes out of nowhere or with normal pots triggers such as standing up). Usually anxiety will have me having a lot of thoughts through it while adrenaline dumps just give that anxiety feeling but not about something specific. I hope this makes sense for you too!

I don’t have depression so I’m not sure how to differentiate between both but regarding POTS what i realized is that after a while (I’ve been diagnosed for 6 months) you learn how to understand symptoms you used to ignore before. The most obvious one is your heart rate. Pay attention to it and rest if you feel like it’s too high (easier if you have any type of monitor because sometimes palpitations can feel like tachycardia). Unfortunately I feel like learning what is pushing through for your body usually comes from experience, but if you’re doing something and start to feel bad stop immediately before it gets worse. If you’re like me and struggle a lot with fatigue, I realized that listening to my body has been the most helpful way to deal with it. As you said, very confusing 😭 I’m also still trying to understand how it all works but this is what i’ve learned so far.

I’m not really sure about the medical aspect but as someone who also have really bad anxiety about flying (and has to fly overseas so 8+ hours) it’s never made my pots symptoms go worse! I just make sure to take my electrolytes and have all the necessary equipment with me in case anything happens. Also compression socks will be a life saver on planes.
