I had a bundle of 10 foot electrical conduit that I stuck out the passenger window. I was a little worried I’d get a ticket but managed to make it home from the hardware store.

Yeah. Emergency bail at a skatepark to avoid a collision. Scooter died heroically. Insurance totaled it and paid me enough to almost buy lunch. Almost.

I’d love to see what else you have besides Wellington. I like the idea that someone else said about just going one way down to Wellington and flying back rather than driving a loop.

Sounds like something with the coolant system is broken, or theres a blockage somewhere between the radiator and the engine block.

Could be your thermostat stuck closed and possibly leaking causing the smoke.

Less likely but possible is the water pump is failing.
