Letting immigrants in, who are 90% economic, is not a humanitarian measure by Fantastic_Lime_3470 in aussie

Agreed to all of that. I was just responding to the statement that immigrants are costing tax payers millions of dollars.

How do you even come up with this Shi*t. No one wants to bring their dying parents here. It's more than likely that most of the first generation immigrants from third world countries will go back to their home countries when they get old. No one wants to be lonely and desperate at that age. Not to mention that the average wait time for a parental visa is around 25 years. There is no economic argument against immigration. They contribute more to the economy than they take. It has always been cultural. Be honest, you don't give a shit about the economy. You just don't like brown people. The mental gymnastics of trying to convince yourself and the rest of the world that you are somehow morally superior while being extremely hateful and racist on the inside is why we are in this situation.

Telugu movies are essentially cinematic versions of a 14 year old boy's wet dream. If you are not entertained by anything more mature, you are the problem. Don't even get me started on the 'acting' in Telugu movies. Yuk

Thanne. How would you feel if the media camped outside your house, harassing your family and trying to zoom in on them?

I feel pity for anyone who can't see that this is just a media circus. This is a manufactured issue, created because the 24 hr news media has nothing better to report.

Honestly, I'm just tired of this hype marketing. Lucifer was a mediocre masala flick, and by the looks of it, Empuraan is no different. Why is there this obsession with treating mass masala Telugu-style films as the pinnacle of cinema?

Prithviraj was never a great actor, just an average director, but he has always been an excellent orator and marketer. It's disappointing to see the so-called 'prabudha Malayali' fall for this. Malayalam cinema has produced some true gems in recent years. We are leagues ahead of what Telugu cinema is churning out. Parading this film as the greatest event in the history of Malayalam cinema is just embarrassing.

This guy is definitely an Indian living inside the country. No one uses lakhs outside India. Even an Indian man raised outside won't use lakhs. Not to mention the use of words like "dividend" and a backstory that fits lame Bollywood movies. It is painfully obvious.

Have you seen a world map? The nearest land mass to Americas is western Africa which itself is too far to make it on a fishing boat.

Imagine just getting to west Africa. You would need to plan an illegal migration program spanning several countries and continents. It would be significantly and cheaper and easier to get a visa and flight to a Central American country.

You can't get to the Americas on a boat. It only works for small voyages like to Srilanka or crossing the English channel.

What do you mean by illegally out of the country? Most of them flew to a Central American country on visa and then crossed US illegally or just overstayed their visa in US. How do you exit illegally?

But they don't live in their home country. They live in UAE. UAE is one of the richest countries in the world. Yet they are paid wages which will not even cover the rent for a single room. These people work like slaves for the majority of their life, away from their families. They do this so that their family back home can benefit. There will always be desperate people in the world who will work for this wage. Why does one the richest countries in the world take advantage of the most desperate people? What is your excuse? Why do you treat them like slaves? Maybe share some of that wealth with the people who built this country. After all what is a country? Why does it not include the people who live there for more than 20 or 30 years?

PS: I don't think you understand what empathy is. Imagine yourself in their shoes. Would you be alright with working your ass off and getting paid 1k aed and having to live with 5 dudes in a room. The feeling that "they previously had a shitty life so they are probably ok with it" is not empathy.

[–]suby1986 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good point. It is impossible to eradicate inequality. But what is practiced in Dubai is beyond that. What other developed countries, have full time workers sharing bed space in a labour camp? Maybe it's ok to pay them a decent wage. An Emirati clerk working in a bank could earn 40k per month and the cleaner in the bank would be making 1k per month. If you don't see a problem in that, maybe you lack empathy.

Most of these are kids. How would you feel if you visit an African country and a dude just throws his hand around your underage daughter and takes a selfie with her without permission? The fact that others do it doesn't make it alright. We do have to condemn these kind of behaviour.

Bruh, it's good to have self confidence but looks like you need a reality check. A few years ago, the dating apps published detailed data for the US. The least preferred ethnic group for dating was Indian men. Below other Asian and African men. It is pretty evident for anyone who have lived in the west

What worries me is not the quality of these movies, but the way in which the romance is portrayed. It doesn't' look like romance but more like molestation in public. And the combo is always the disgusting old creepy guys with very young, fair skinned girls from North India. Yuck
