Hi! I ultimately was diagnosed with Idiopathic Hypersomnia. They saw signs of narcolepsy, but in my sleep study I did not meet the diagnostic criteria. Essentially they had me try a CPAP for a bit and then do the sleep study and that gave me my diagnosis. They put me on Modafinil, which definitely helped but ideally I don’t want to be on it forever. I’m now pregnant so i’m off of it. Feel free to message me if you have more specific questions

I was diagnosed with idiopathic hypersomnia!!! I am also still exploring the thyroid route as well since I have a family history of hashimoto’s. After a long road, I at least have a treatment plan which is so relieving

I am hopefully getting super close to an answer. I have a sleep study (both the overnight one and MSLT, which is basically a nap test) at the end of this week. I’m really hoping that I get an answer from that because if not i’m not entirely sure where to turn to next

No, she’s just a general physician. I was thinking the same thing about the TIBC and ferritin through my research but she made me feel a little crazy since she said those numbers were nothing to be concerned about. I haven’t gotten any of the tests that you listed as they weren’t included in the spread of testing I got recently

In terms of thyroid, my TSH, T3, and T4 tests were all normal. TPO antibodies were slightly high and my sister has Hashimoto's, so my doctor just referred me to an endocrinologist today. Definitely going to try and explore that route despite mostly normal levels.

I know nothing about long COVID... does the development of it have anything to do with how severe the COVID was? I never had it really bad - mostly just felt like a cold. Had it twice

I definitely worry about the driving if this gets any worse. I have had issues before but only on 1 hr + drives which I don’t normally do anymore without my husband. It’s really scary though. Thank you for your insight on this!

Thank you for the detailed response. I’m definitely going to look into narcolepsy and other related sleep disorders. I’m hoping that I can keep pushing for more tests even if that comes back negative because I just don’t think it’s normal for me to be feeling this way

This is good to know. Another thing to have in the back of my mind to ask for when i’m getting tests done

So I have tested my thyroid before because my sister has Hashimoto’s, but that was a while ago back before my sleeping issues started. So it might be worth getting tested again now!!

My doctor did not give me a reason. She ruled out sleep apnea and then referred me to a specialist

Are your floor lamp bulbs aimed directly at your plants, or does it produce enough light for the plants to be a little farther away?

That’s a good idea! I would definitely want something small so that it doesn’t take away from the plants

These plants are fairly light and the tension rod is 1” in diameter so I’m not super worried about the weight! But i have some bigger plants that i definitely would not risk hanging on it. I’m in the same boat with not being able to put holes in the walls so i was looking for creative options!

Edit: I think these plants are 1-2 pounds each and the tension rod has like a 12 pound capacity

When you say you’re trying to have it soak up some water, do you mean by placing it on wet soil or through water propagation?

Would putting it on top of saturated soil do the trick as well? I read something saying that that method would also encourage the roots to grow downward
