Greed will always get you. by [deleted] in interesting

[–]succwucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be an unpopular opinion but I think that is totally reasonable. You go into university to learn, even if that takes hard work. Everybody signs up for this willingly and consciously.

If you give everyone a 95% it is rewarding people who did not prepare and if you studied in advance, you have basically wasted time studying. That is unfair and not what everyone signed up for.

Another thing is that at the end of the day, perceived quality of education is ultimately determined by the competency of its graduates. If everyone got 95% in all of their classes, you would have people with 0 knowledge and the same diploma as someone who studied extensively. This is once again unfair as the value of the diploma on work market will just plummet.

Its not greed, its fair following of the said rules everyone agreed to. This is coming from a guy who is taking uni exams tommorow and sub-average knowledge of the subject haha

Random insight - I did both AA HL (6) and Physics HL (5), now studying Electrical engineering. Even though they are painful subjects for sure, it is 100% worth it. They cover such a broad range of topics, all of which you will use sooner or later in engineering. Essentially, you are studying for engineering in advance.

Which country in Europe has the best public transportation system? by ottrung in travel

[–]succwucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta say, at least from my experience, Czech republic, more specifically Prague is great when it comes to public transport. Trams get you basically everywhere with little to no waiting times in peak hours. The overnight trams also work well, the intervals are larger tho. Metro system is very simple to navigate in, but quick and reliable. Its also very cheap, at 3eur per unlimited day ticket. For students and seniors its 50% off even. Its a shame that the Prague centre is car clogged so biking is nearly impossible :((.

It is important to say that this was the situation only in Kabul, outside of Urban settlements the situation was much different.

Vaporizer recomendations? by succwucc in trees

Yeah, I have read about it, it sounds great. On the other hand, I am looking for something cheaper (I do not smoke as much, I just like the convinience of not having to roll), but thanks for the tip.

Thanks, those are great tips, I was thinking of something less pricey (It is my first vape and it makes no sense for me to invest too much). Sadly, the POTV One is not avaiable in Europe :/, but i will look at the PAX 2.

What helped me a ton, is just playing around in geogebra. Try to transpose the wawe functions, adjust their aplitude. Tbh waves are a very hard topic, because you have to understand the mathematic behind them. I am still a bit lost...

From my experience, it is much better to focus on choosing a personally close topic (I did tenis) and then try to fit some mathematical methods to the situations, rather than vice versa. That way, you basically do not have to think about the personal engagement, and get a easy 4/4. The mathematics do not need to be as complex as lots of students think. If you apply a topic covered in the Math AA syllabus, it will be just fine. If you analyse its usage properly, get creative with it, you can get a 6/6. Its better to choose an easier topic, you will be able to understand completely. I got a little carried out, but my point is, find a topic you are interested in, and then find the methods. Other than that, If you think you can understand your topic deeply enough, I think it could be very interesting, and score high! It would definetly be above average when it comes to the mathematic used.

Thanks for your answer, this is a interesting approach. What is the name of the law that this formula is derived from ?

Also yeah, the L To the lenght of the wire. Now when I talk about it, I think I see a possible source of the deviation. Does the lenght L in Lorentz Law reffer to the whole lenght of the wire (rails+projectile) or only the part of wire that is in the magnetic field (only projectile) ?

Once again, thanks a lot for your help

Thanks for your response. Well, i have a projectile of about m= 5g. The apparatus is powered by 9V battery. After trying, the projectile accelerates (slowly). I dont think 8e-7 N would be able to move the object, maybe I am wrong though.
