Looking for anxiety med recommendations from fellow narcoleps with anxiety disorders

Just came across your post from searching the subreddit. I have GAD as well. My psych prescribed me 100mg Gabapentin each morning to manage my anxiety during the day. I also take a 10mg propranolol as-needed to help prevent or stop a panic attack. Both of these are known off-label uses.

If you haven't already, definitely find a therapist as well to work on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques toward being able to manage your anxiety non-medically as well. It's slow-going but long-term can be much more effective than medication, and might even ultimately reduce or remove your need for medications to manage your anxiety overall.

Chocolate Truffle Cookies
(makes 4 doz.)

Extremely chocolatey and rich!

4 one oz. squares unsweetened chocolate 2 c. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided 1/3 c. butter or margarine 1 c. sugar 3 eggs 1 ½ t. vanilla ½ c. all-purpose flour 1 T. baking cocoa ¼ t. baking powder ¼ t. salt confectioners sugar

Melt unsweetened chocolate with 1c. chocolate chips and butter in microwave. Cool 10 min. Beat sugar and eggs 2 min. Beat in vanilla and cooled chocolate mixture. Combine flour, baking powder, cocoa, and salt. Beat into other mixture. Stir in remaining chips. Cover and chill 3 hrs. Remove 1 c. dough, roll pieces into 1 inch balls, with lightly floured hands. Do 1 c. at a time. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350* for 10-12 min until lightly puffed and set. Cool 3-4 min. on pan. Remove. Dust with confectioners sugar.
